I think the mere fact that he accepted the appointment as deputy director and executive director and stayed in the commission for almost 4 years implies that he believed in the VFA and everything it stood for. I think his resignation is a political move because he already had intentions to run.
I agree skills acquired in their respective fields are not applicable in governance, but i believe that their respective fields influences the person's character and capacities. I mean I don't really want to generalize but I'm afraid that if we continue giving opportunities to fellows like Lito Lapid, Robert Jaworski, Freddie Webb and Noli de Castro then philippine politics will continue to be incompetent and ineffective. I do not believe that our government is incompetent and ineffective it is the people that we allow and vote that are incompetent and ineffective.

Check out his stand on the JPEPA: "I’m not for it because we have never learned to negotiate for our best interests and that is the biggest consideration. We have a national inferiority complex that keep us from this."
So just because he thinks we are ignorant and haven't learned to negotiate for our best interest then we should not involve ourselves in bilateral and multilateral agreements? There are already speculations of a south east asian economic community and a person like him who believes that we have never learned to negotiate is not needed.
And dont you think that as a doctor one of his agendas in his long platform would be the improvement of the philippine health system? as a doctor who worked in the US for 8 years, what do you think is his stand regarding the deterioration of quality of health care in the philippines partly due to doctors, nurses and caregivers who almost all choose to work overseas? do you think he encourages the export of our medical specialists?

regarding sison (http://ivote.ph/candidates_view_profile.php?candidate_id=26),
Stand on Ban on Incandescent Bulb in Favor of Compact Fluorescent Lamps
"It is very good to save energy."
STAND ON THE PARLIAMENT GOVERNMENT SHIFT
"I like the parliamentary form of government but do not amend the Constitution now."
Seriously? Sison is extremely brief and concise. I wonder if he was in a hurry or he doesn't have anything to say at all.
