We used to pinch the big pad on my cat's claws anytime he played with his claws out. no idea how to get him to stop clawing furniture, although squirting him with one of those kitty training squirt bottles seems to work somewhat. at least then he'll learn to only do it when you're not around.

I unloaded at least a litre of water onto him with the spray bottle to no avail. The cat's an idiot.

(I sprayed when he was on the table, not out of pleasure.)

compressed air when he's scratching furniture. As for scratching people, just don't play with him with your hands (harder said than done I know but it helps)... always use a toy to play with him.

compressed air is a good idea.... as for the scratching people its not when we play it more like he will jump up on ur leg and try to use it like a skracting post lol

maybe just use a firm voice and say "NO" and push him away. That's what's worked for me with all 3

cut it's legs off, then all it can do is roll around like a sausage!

derek has a tried and true method of a coffee can filled with pennies, and he shakes it whenever the cat is doing something bad. I have to admit that our cats have responded to similar sounds as well.
