the happiest man in the world

supposedly i'm writing my Early 20th century art paper. however, i'm not. A little man in the hallways just told me this story and i feel it deems repeating:

There once was a rich man. he had everything he wanted. Nice car. Nice house. Plenty of money. But he wasn't happy. something was missing. So the man went to a sage and said "wise one, how can I be happy?" and the sage looked at him, and knew the answer. He replied, "You must find the happiest man in the world, and get his shirt".
The man left and went on his quest to find the happiest man in the world. He wandered about the streets of of the city and the boardwalks of malll towns. from the shore to the mountains. And he asked everyone that he came upon the same question:"Are you happy?" they would reply "yes" or "no" as they were. And of the ones who said "yes", he would ask, "Would a thousand dollars make you happier?". To which they all invariably replied "Yes" and the man knew that they were not the happiest man in the world.
After two and a half years of wandering, the man went into the woods. After coming a long way, he began to hear the singing of a deep voice bellowing through the forest. The man followed the sound of the singing until he came upon a small wooden shack. And behind the shack was a tall, muscular black man, singing and chopping wood. The man approached and asked "Excuse me, sir, but are you happy?" To which the large man said "Why, I suppose i must be just about the happiest man in the world right now!" And the man said "would a thousand dollars make you happier?". And his reply, "Now what would i do with a thousand dollars?"
By test and his own admitance, the man knew this was the happiest man in the world, and he asked for the man's shirt. The happiest man laughed and took off his jacket to show that he had no shirt on. The man was thoroughly dissappointed and headed back to teh city. and as he walked back , he thought about what had just happened. By the time he got back to the city, the man was happy.
