Room 214 [afternoon/evening]

Mar 07, 2008 17:01

Pam, naturally, knew what today was, but she hadn't expected anyone else to remember. It wasn't like she went around telling people, 'Oh, by the by, Friday? I'm going to be seventeen!' or anything ( Read more... )

Once the guys got reassembled, they started in on their next song. Of course, said song was a little different than the first and Gavin demonstrated that by doing an oh so smooth except not slide out in front, nearly tripping over his own feet but turning that into an unbalanced spin.

The right stuff
The right stuff
First time was a great time
Second time was a blast
Third time I fell in love
Now I hope it lasts

And he danced back into line.

Jim kind of skipped out ahead, tipped his hat over his eyes in a way that would be badass if it were the late 80s or it wasn't a barbershop hat, and continued the song.

I can see it in your walk
Tell 'em when you talk
See it in everything you do
Even in your thoughts

He hopped back into line.

For some reason, Karal found himself sort of skipping about in front of the others, hat tipped right back on his head.

And pointing at random parts of Pam's room.

You got the right stuff, baby
Love the way you turn me on
You got the right stuff, baby
You're the reason why I sing this song

He was more than happy to surrender centre stage...floor...to someone else.

Thrilled, John leaped forward for the sappy bit, doing his best to seem really soulful, closing his eyes tightly and gripping his hat to his chest as he sang.

All that I needed was you
Oh girl, you're so right
Said all that I wanted was you
You made all my dreams come true

He rejoined the others before starting the chorus off with:

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Gavin skipped out in front again, jumping up into the air to kick his heels together before landing and flailing each leg out.

It seemed right.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff

Jim stepped forward and followed Gavin's lead with the classic flailing leg dance, only he spun while doing it.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Karal had no idea what they were doing, but he followed suit, leaping out to the front, arms spread wide, to swing his legs out to the side in the classic dance of leg flail.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff

John was starting to wonder if the others had met up with gremlins earlier in the day. Regardless, he hooked his thumbs in his belt and swung his legs in a flailing manner.

Your first kiss was a sweet kiss
Second kiss had a twist
Third and your fourth kiss
I don't want to miss

Gavin hopped out in front again, doing a little bit of bad dancing before he started singing.

I can see it in your walk

"But I don't mean that in a dirty or innuendo laden way," Gavin said, stopping the singing. "You're just not...bow legged."

Yeah, he decided to just sing again,

Tell 'em when you talk
See it in everything you do
Even in your thoughts

And then he was fleeing to the line.

Jim stepped forward and did kind of an Irish jig. It seemed to work with the rest of the dancing.

You got the right stuff, baby
Love the way you turn me on
You got the right stuff, baby
You're the reason why I sing this song

Jim took his hat off and tossed it to Pam. She was the reason why he was singing the song, after all.

Karal stepped forward, dropped to both knees, and looked soulfully at Pam as he sung.

Well, at a spot about two inches above her head. Otherwise it would just have been too strange.

All that I needed was you
Oh girl, you're so right
Said all that I wanted was you
You made all.... every one of my dreams come true

It was still a little strange, so he made sure he pointed repeatedly at Jim as he moved back to the others.

Jim took Karal's cue and pointed to himself as he sang the chorus.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff

And Gavin wanted to do the leg dance one more time so there he was, leg dancing and singing.

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The right stuff

Karal was not doing the leg dance, ever ever again, but he could do a little shuffling jig, kicking his feet out in time with the--

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
