The deed is done.
As the type of smoker who usually only cracks open the fags in pubs/ clubs or after a meal in a restaurant, this is ultimately a good thing for me I suppose. The ban does not start until the summer of 2007 though, which brings me to a proposition for the smokers amongst us.
For the forthcoming summer of 2006, let us smoke like there’s no tomorrow; one last binge; that glorious type of communal smoking where you have a fag with your fag and a post-fag fag for dessert; a final farewell to heart-to-hearts over a Lucky Strike Red and a pint of Guinness at the pub, not to mention Marlboro Lights and chilled white wine on barmy summers evenings in Hyde Park.
After that we shall quit for good, just in the nick time before we are sentenced to our respective eternities of itchy nicotine addiction.
But lets not deny ourselves this summer of love and smoke.
