There's a reason med school is pass-fail and you only need a 60%. Because your brain cannot contain the sheer volume of material they heave at you. Seriously. I have never before seen the need for those 3 inch binders. Now, I have a need. A desperate need. Especially as my current state of 'organization' consists of piles on the floor. Also, my brain hurts. And I haven't studied all that much, so I can't sleep. (Both because I need to study, and because of nerves.) On the bright side, I think I only need 25-30% on most of my exams to pass. (So, really, a trained monkey should be able to do it. But, as one of my profs said about medicine the other day, "If it was easy, trained, shaved, and washed chimpanzees would do it." I have no idea what shaved chimpanzees have to do with anything, but if you figure it out, let me know.)
Half of me says fuck it.
The "better" half of me can't imagine failing an exam (aside from Zaremba's physics, and orgo, and French in grade 3). But may have to accept that before the year is over.
Next term, I am turning over a new leaf. A greener leaf. A better leaf. A leaf that will involve more review throughout the term so that when the administration decides our study break should be at the end of September before the 'Intro to Medicine' exam, which is like first year, in 6 weeks or less, and not before our 5 exams in 4 days I will not want to pull a Kate and curl up into a little ball of denial.
Becoming a hobo gets more and more appealling with every passing hour. Anyone know of any good beaches where hobos can do well?
