Passing on a message to people who might be attending WAICON
Heya.. this is sort of just poking around to gauge interest (and not my idea btw, I'm just helping cherupon scope)
Would anyone be interested in selling any of their unwanted anime/japanese related merchandise at Wai-Con?
The idea was to register as a trader/fangroup (whatever it would fall under) and then people can bring in their stuff to sell at the table, if they help out with the registration fee and possibly take turns manning it.
Also you could probably also sell your handicraft stuff if you don't want to actually man a table yourself or something (I'm considering making stuff to sell like that myself). And if this goes ahead, I am also considering importing some Lolita stuff to sell as well (but no promises haha). They would be expensive though, so yeah dunno how feasible that would be (Loli stuff).

I'd like your input on something. I'm wondering how many of you would be interested or know someone who is interested in selling used anime/manga/japan related stuff at WAICON? It's not going to be a swapmeet or anything like that but if there's enough people I will apply for a stall to sell stuff for them because it'd just be too messy with everyone...I don't know the idea is in the very early stages. I would love to know what you guys think and if the idea does get off the ground I would also love some volunteers to help out. Please don't tell anyone yet as I'm not sure if it's a valid idea yet and this would only be a trial as well so I'm trying to keep to a pretty small size. But you never know it might catch on and soon you'll be seeing more of this sort in the future? I don't know :P
Some rules:
-No bootlegs (as cheap as that stuff is we want to encourage good buying habits)
-No 18+ stuff (Not sure if there'd be a way to restrict minors from seeing and buying the stuff)
-I'm wondering about clothes...
-I reserve the right to refuse things. eg, plse don't try and make me sell your fridge for you or your exam notes : p Just things like that
Or if you've got some talent at making little knick knacks or something consider putting a stall up! The more stalls the merrier.
I would like to stress that this is currently JUST an idea and I'm just testing the waters and seeing if anyone bites :P
