I'm Going to Strangle Kendall

Feb 14, 2005 20:26

Well, I guess I have fallen out of my rhythm. It used to be that I would update once or twice a day! But now I have gotten lazy and I'm only doing it every three or four days. I suppose it doesn't matter, because nobody cares about the stuff I write about. But hey, I get a certain satisfaction out of this. So suck it up.

Saturday was OK, the acting workshop was kind of fun but nothing special. I also got roped into babysitting for my acting teacher's kids. That was an absolute nightmare. I was supposed to sit from 5-11, but she came home earlier so I left at 7:30. She paid me $20 for my 2 1/2 hours, but made a whole huge mopey thing when I told her I make $10 an hour. Oh well, I made $20. I would have just sat home, watching TV or IMing otherwise.

Then on Sunday my family (well, my parents, Casey and I, we went sans Brendan) (sans means without, duh), went into New York City to see the Gates exhibit by Jean-Claude and Cristo, in Central Park. Wow, that was a hell of a run-on sentence. Mrs. Visnyei would be proud. Anyway, we met up with my grandparents and uncle, both on my father's side. Then we went to this awesome restaurant called E.A.T. It was super-expensive (think, $15 grilled cheese), but the food was amazing!

Then I came home and did homework and IM'd Kendall and Brandon.

Today was Monday. Need I say more?

Well, it was also Valentine's day I guess, which... well, it wasn't that different for me than any other day. I dunno, I felt kind of strange, as if I was on the outside, looking in at all the love and valentines and candy and festivities. Maybe everyone without a boyfriend feels that way... maybe it was just me. I just felt kind of strange. I need a boyfriend!!! Well, I guess Valentine's day just isn't my holiday. Dammit, I'm beginning to sound all jaded and cynical.

So I came home and I've been switching between hanging with the family, doing homework, and (what else is new) IMing Kendall and Brandon. This, of course, has direct relation to my 'subject line', but until I find out a couple more things I will not elaborate. Don't worry, you'll find out eventually.

So, a few minutes ago I got some chocolates from my grandfather and flowers from my dad. I suppose that's pretty sweet, and I love it and everything. But it feels kind of artificial, as if they're saying, "well, Kelly, you're too much of a loser to have a boyfriend, so we'll give you valentines." I need to cheer up, seriously. I've been in kind or a weird mood all say, and recent events have made me feel even more off-kilter. Valentine's day held such magic when we were younger, didn't it? There was a party, nobody had boyfriends, everyone got the same cards and candy. There was love and cheer everywhere, you went home excited, nobody felt left out. But now it's more of a sad day, unless you're going out with someone. And if you're not, like me, you're just looking on, jealous of those who are.

Dammit. The cynical thing again.

Ok, well, I'm going to go study for the French quiz. Yay.

Happy (or not so happy...) Valentine's Day!

Love,
Kelly
