Went to Long Beach Pride this weekend with some friends from Phoenix... Love those boys... They showed me a really great time...
And, of course, many thanks to my closest LJ friend
beachboyty. Once again, he proved himself to be the fun, loving (and fun-loving) person I know him to be... I wish I could've seen him more on this trip...
A few funny anecdotes...
On Friday night,
beachboyty took me out to play... First, we went to The Silver Fox for a few drinks. While there, I spotted a fellow that looked totally familiar to me. I knew that I knew him from somewhere. Cute, sweet-looking... For a full 10 minutes, I was completely distracted from everything, racking my brain trying to figure out where I knew him. I walked past him so he could catch my eye and see if he would respond, but he didn't. I came so close to just walking up and asking him where I knew him from.
We left and went to a friend's place and suddenly, about a half hour later, it popped into my head. That guy had been one of the contestants on the Bravo show, "Boy Meets Boy." His name was Brian. Whew... I'm so glad I didn't ask him how I knew him. I bet that happens to him all the time. How weird that because I watched that show, I felt like I KNEW him. I remember thinking when I was trying to place him that I must have spent some time with him because his facial expressions and mannerisms he had were even familiar. That TV is one weird invention. (Or maybe it's the reality show that's the weird invention.)
We then went to Fire Island, met some of my friends from Phoenix and fun was had by all. We went back to the hotel and had more fun.
Saturday I went down to the hotel where my friends were staying and more friends from Phoenix had shown up. They wanted to go to West Hollywood, but we ended up just hanging out by the pool, having cocktails. (I'm so glad... I had no desire to go to WeHo). I went back to the room to nap, ended up meeting some guys at the hotel bar and having another few cocktails. Then, one of them bought us all shots of Jagermeister. Ugh... I had no business doing it, but I did it anyway. They each did two more, but not me. I was sufficiently wasted at that point so I went upstairs to lie down. Suddenly, I was awakened by my cell phone and it was 9:30 p.m.!!! My Phoenix friends were at Hamburger Mary's, so I tried to get myself together and took a cab down there. I felt like damn Rip Van Winkle. Ran into the Jager boys as I was leaving the hotel. They had gone out for sushi and were already back!
HM's was outrageously busy (I hate that place anyway), so we ended up eating at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles next door. It was hilarious and one of the best meals I've had in a while. Went back to Fire Island where the line was ridiculously long to get in. Went to Ripple's and stayed there much too late.
Sunday I got up, got a phone call from Ty who was going to the parade and told him I'd call him when we were heading out. But, of course, these gays (my friends from Phoenix) took FOREVER to get out of the hotel room... I was actually getting really upset... but, we finally left at around 1 p.m. and went to the festival. Called Ty, told him where we were, and said we'd try to hook up later. Spent until around 6 p.m. at the festival, having fun, drinking beer and watching the boys. Took a nap at 5 p.m. Met those guys again at 8 p.m., went to Fire Island and had more fun carousing. Never did see Ty again... which I'm bummed about... :(
Got up... Now I'm home... :) It was fun... I have more I want to write about... but will have to do it later... Senior staff meeting awaits...
