It was just one of those same old nights after dance practice. The evening air rolled in from a nearby window. The light of the T.V. gave off an artificial glow throughout the room. Daiki laid nestled in Inoo's arms, watching one of those sappy romances they air every weekend, but not particularly caring much for it. Daiki looked up to see Inoo, but noticed Inoo was simply staring off into space.
“You okay?” Daiki asked quizzically.
“Huh? Oh, yeah, totally. Why?” Inoo said as he was snapped back into existence.
“Well, you looked like you were off in la-la-land for one thing.” Daiki replied.
“Haha, oh, I was just thinking, that's all.”
“Oh... okay?”
“... Nee, Dai-chan. When you hear 'childhood,' what do you think of?”
“What? What kind of question is that?”
“Just answer.”
“Hm, Baseball, playgrounds, stuff like that. Why?”
“Nothing... I'm just curious...” Inoo said.
“...What do you think of?” Daiki asked with a slight smile.
“Swings.” Inoo replied.
“Swings?”
“Yeah, swings. When I was a kid I would always try and go higher and higher, just to touch the sky. Or I would spin around and around till I puked my guts out. Sometimes I tried to see how far I could jump off the swings.” Inoo continued to ramble on, but Daiki couldn't help but smile at it.
“I really miss those times, being a kid and all. Where everything was just fun, and just so pure hearted. No complications, nothing...” Inoo solemnly said. A mixture of nostalgia and sadness flooded his expression. The look in his eye seemed as if he was desperately yearning for something. All this struck a chord in Daiki's heart, it made him want to cheer Inoo up, but he didn't know how to.

The morning sun rose, shedding its warm light onto the kitchen walls, setting the room ablaze in orange. The noises of breakfast making filled the air; the pang of pans, the crack of eggshells, and the sizzling of bacon. Daiki wandered groggily into the kitchen, awoken by the noises.
“Who's making so much racket so early in the morning?” Daiki said with slight irritation.
“Someone who's nice enough to make breakfast for everyone.”
Daiki looked up and saw Yabu in front of the stove, spatula in hand.
“... Typical Yabumama.” Daiki muttered.
“If you have a problem, then don't eat.” Yabu chimed jokingly.
“I'll eat, I'll eat...” Daiki said.
Daiki sat down at the kitchen table as Yabu placed a plate of eggs, toast, and bacon on the table with a clatter. The sound of shuffling feet drifted into the kitchen. Daiki turned to see Hikaru and Takaki walking in just as groggily as he did.
“Mornin',” they both muttered as they took their seats at the kitchen table. Yabu also sat down after he placed Hikaru and Takaki's breakfast in front of them.
“Hey, has Inoo been asking you guys weird stuff lately?” Daiki suddenly asked.
“Weird stuff? Like what?” Hikaru asked with a mouth full of toast.
“Stuff like childhood.” Daiki replied.
“He asked you too?” Takaki said slightly surprised.
“You too?” Yabu also said surprised. Hikaru's face matched the same look of astonishment everyone else had upon their faces.
“Did he ask, 'When you hear 'childhood,' what do you think of?'” Daiki continued.
“Yeah.” Everyone replied simultaneously.
“Did he also start talking about swings?” Daiki pressed on.
“Uh, yeah I think so...” Takaki said after a moment of thought. Yabu and Hikaru nodded in agreement.
“Oh, okay, thanks, I was just curious.” Daiki said as he began to get lost in the revelation he has made.
“It all makes sense now... the questions about childhood, the swings. Kei-chan misses being a kid! That's what's been making him so sad lately! … But what am I going to do...? How am I going to cheer up Kei-chan...?” Daiki then came up with his best idea ever.

The gentle evening wind danced about under the soft glow of the effervescent moon. The artificial shine of city lights illuminated the streets. Silver glimmers or light vividly decorated the vast night sky into a dazzling sight. Daiki led a blindfolded Inoo through a quiet park in the city. Every few steps Inoo would stumble, even though Daiki was holding his hand.
“Where exactly are you taking me, and why does it need me to be blindfolded?” Inoo asked slightly irritated.
“I told you it's a surprise!” Daiki simply chimed.
“Okay, you know I don't like surprises that much Dai-chan.” frowned Inoo.
“Fine, I'll just take you back home then.” Daiki said jokingly.
“No! I wanna see my surprise!” Inoo quickly said. Daiki couldn't help but smile. After five more minutes of walking, Inoo came to a sudden stop.
“Okay, we're here! You can take it off now!” Daiki said happily.
Inoo removed the blindfold from his eyes. As he looked up he found himself before a swing set in the middle of the park. It was a simple swing set painted in a soft blue. The huddle of trees exuded a sense of seclusion in the air. It was like their own little world. He turned his head back towards Daiki but didn't take his eyes off the swing set.
“Dai-chan, why...?” Daiki wrapped his arms around Inoo and laid his head on Inoo's shoulder.
“Well, you've been kinda down lately, and I guessed it was because of that childhood talk we had last night. I wanted to cheer you up, but since I can't turn back time, I thought of just taking you to the swings for a date and-” Inoo cuts Daiki off and just hugs him as hard as he can.
“Dai-chan, this is the most thoughtful thing you've ever done for me. Thank you.” Inoo said.
“Uhm, you're welcome, but Kei-chan, you're suffocating me...” Daiki managed to say with his face in Inoo's chest.
“Sorry Dai-chan! Now, let's play!”
Inoo took Daiki by the hand and ran to the swings. Inoo started to swing first, to and fro, higher and higher. The happiness drawn on his face seemed so radiant in Daiki's eyes. The sonorous laughter of Inoo made Daiki's smile even wider. Daiki then decided to spin Inoo on the swings. As soon as the chains of the swings started to unwind, and the spinning started, Inoo started laughing and screaming with hints of both excitement and fear. After a few rounds, Inoo started,
“Okay! Okay! Haha, stop before I seriously puke my guts!”
“Haha, alright!” Daiki said as he walked back to the other swing and started to swing. After a few moment Inoo arose and stood in front of Daiki. He grabbed hold of the chains and brought Daiki's swing to an abrupt stop. Daiki looked up confused, and Inoo then started,
“Dai-chan, again, thank you so much.” Inoo said sincerely with a smile.
“It's nothing Kei-chan!”
“But, even though I miss being a kid, there's one thing I'd miss more than that. Do you know what it is?” Inoo asked as he stepped in closer. Daiki absentmindedly took a step back and leaned back on the swing seat. He thought for a moment but shook his head.
“What I'd miss the most is...” Inoo slowly moved his face closer to Daiki.
“You.”
Time seemed to stop as Inoo kissed Daiki sweetly on the lips, under the silver decoration of the evening sky and the effervescent moon.
