to be truly awake is to live in the awareness of possibility

so far, college has taught me...

-how to not go to the bathroom every five minutes
-how to keep weird hours (out till 4am every night, you bet!)
-how to coexist with a complete stranger in a 12 x 12 space
-how to drink beer... and not hate it as much as before
-how to step outside of my comfort zone

tomorrow the real class begins. welcome week has been absolutely unreal. i love it here. i have been to my first football game (which uofm won - HAIL TO THE VICTORS!!) i've bought my first t-shirt to bash ohio state... the front reads: "buck the fuckeyes" the back reads: "100 years of busting their nuts". i have walked clear across campus in stilettos without falling once (sjp would be proud.) i've missed everyone, but managed to deal with it. i've met new people, and i am still trying to find my place.

i now eat soup for breakfast. salad is my main food group. i am not nearly so addicted to ice cream as i have been over the summer, in spite of the soft serve machine at my disposal at every meal.

college is great. i love walking home at 3:30am, and detoxing the evening with mead and her roomie. i love that i have hung out with people by picking them up on the street. i've learned that i am hearing impaired, and maybe not quite as smart as i should be to be going here because of it... "boo cats" "fine, how are you"...

i'm still scared.
