Interesting developments....

Well, I've only got a few moments before I dash off for my shift, but...wow.  Interesting day yesterday.  Ollie scared us half to death when she had an anaphylactic reaction over lunch...fortunately, the lass is going to be fine.  And our two inpatient scientists continued to do well, so I can't much complain.  And...I met someone.  I have a date.  And that's...new for me.  Well, not brand-new, of course, I'm hardly a nun - especially considering I'm not Catholic.  But...well, for a woman who reluctantly admitted to herself a couple months ago that she's spent a year of her life waiting for the right time to approach Mr. Right, only to realize it will never happen, that's a big step.  Mr. Right - Doctor, in my case - is in love with Prince Charming. Or Less-Than-Charming-But-Definitely-Not-Without-Redeeming-Qualities.  But less about Carson's love life--or lack thereof--and more about my potential own.  I'll always have a definite soft spot for Carson, but as I've said before, there's no bloody good reason to pine for him anymore.  And he does need someone to look out for him.  I've been accused of being a mother hen where my doctors, especially him, are concerned, but so be it.  If they're happy, I'm happy.

But this new lad.  His name's Aiden Ford, and he's a Marine.  Lieutenant.  Funny, I'd never much fancied the military boys, but...he seems different.  Sweet.  Youngish, but not so much I feel like I'd be robbing the cradle--though I'm sure I've got at least five years on him.  Very polite, dark good looks, everything I could bring home to Mum...if he were only Irish.  Though, Aiden, that's a good Celtic name.  Hmm, look at me, giggling like a schoolgirl before I've even had an actual date with him.  We'll see how it goes.  Heaven knows I could use a social life again.
