Ukraine... Russia...
First off, Obviously, war is always awful. This is depressing and it's going to get worse. All the memes on social media I've been seeing about the bravery of the Ukrainians, just make me sad. Yes, they are unbelievably brave, yes Putin is horrible for doing this, but... it's all going to end terribly. The longer this drags on, the more likely it is that Putin will just start bombing indiscriminately. In the 70's and 80's cold war days, the USSR had a functioning government and the guy leading the country couldn't just go crazy and fire nukes. I'm highly doubtful Putin has anyone saying "hey that's not a good idea" ever to him. So this feels like a much more dangerous situation than it was back in the cold war days. Which sucks for everyone. Well, obviously it sucks the most right now for Ukraine.
