A/N: Because I promised to post the last chapter on February 14, so here it is. XD It’s already 12 midnight, so it’s already 14th ne? :D I’ll post this late in heysay_fanfic .. When I get home later from school. ^^v
Is There a Second Chance?
CHAPTER 1o
Yamada took a deep breath before he pushed the doorbell of Nakajima’s house. After two days, he decided to pay Yuto a visit. He just gave him a time to recover from the day they accidentally met. His bicycle was with him. He knew Yuto was still there because he saw him a while ago in the terrace of his room.
Nakajima’s housemaid opened him, he didn’t know her.. or him. He might be a new one. When he came inside, he saw Yuto’s mother in the garden. She was surprised when she saw him. He was expecting that she will get angry. But she gave him a hug.
That made him teary-eyed. Yuto’s mother said she can’t blame him for what he did, he might have his own reasons. But because of what he did, Yuto changed so much. He said he’d explain to her too, but he wanted to be Yuto the first one to know about it.
They were already done talking when Yuto came outside from his room. Yuto eyed them. While he was becoming near them, he can he see him knotting his forehead. He knows he didn’t want to see him there.
“I’ll let you two talk first,” Yuto’s mother said.
“What are you doing here?” Yuto asked, his voice angry.
He wasn’t able to answer right away. He calmed his self first. He needed to be used to Yuto’s attitude to him because he hurt him so much.
“What do you want, Ryosuke? I have many works to do,” Yuto continued angrily. He wasn’t even smiling.
Yuto really did change so much.
Well, he was ready to change him back to the one he used to be before. He owed Yuto that.
That thought made him smile.
“What’s funny?” Yuto asked.
“Nothing,” he replied while smiling. “I just remembered something that’s worth smiling.”
“Go home, Yama-chan. I have so many things to do,” Yuto said then turned his back on him.
He followed him instantly. “That’s exactly where I’m going,” he said while he was still holding his bicycle.
“What?” Yuto asked him with a knotted forehead.
“Home,” he smiled. He made his smile sweeter this time. “I’m going home. The problem is you’re not letting me in. But here I am, still trying to unlock so I can get in.”
“Oh, stop that crap,” Yuto said with gritted teeth.
“My home is… you,” he said bravely.
“Spare me,” Yuto answered, looking so irritated.
“You may not believe me, but that’s the truth. And I intend to come home to you, Yuto,” he explained seriously.
“Oh, really? “ Yuto asked, sarcasm in his voice. “And how do you intend to do that? Be pestering my life? By thinking that everything was just that easy? Is it that way, Ryosuke? Well, life and love are not just a piece of cake. You taught me about that very well.”
He didn’t answer anymore, he just smiled. He never intended to back out in that moment, no matter what it will took. Even if Yuto would despise him a million times. He only had to make him listen to what he had to say.
“Life and love can be piece of cake if we only put our mind into it. Well, anyway, I didn’t come here to pester your life or anything. I just want to collect the deal we had a long time ago.”
“What?”
“Time has come for us to have our deal.”
“What deal?”
He knew Yuto knows what he meant. But then again, he was the one who was begging so he needed patience. “Race by bicycle. I can still remember we made a deal. If I can do it, if my asthma is gone we can do racing by bicycle. Now we can do it.”
“I don’t have time for your silly games, Ryosuke."
“A deal is a deal, Yuto. And this time, I know I can beat you. I’ve practiced a lot, you know.”
“Hah! Really?”
“Yeah, really. `Want to try me? Or are you just afraid I will beat you? Like I’ve heard, you do nothing but just working so that means you didn’t have time to practice anymore. That’s why you are afraid that I can beat you now.”
“Nobody had ever beaten me when it comes to racing bicycles, Ryosuke,” Yuto said. He felt a sudden happiness.
“I don’t believe it.”
“Nobody, Ryosuke,” Yuto said again.
“Then I’m going to be the first to beat you, Yuto. Want to see yourself?” he challenged him.
“Call!”
“All right!” he said, with a wide smile. Gotcha, Yuto.

Both Yamada and Yuto are driving the bicycles fast. They look like some kids. They kept on screaming while having the race. Yamada was so happy in that moment. He didn’t expect that day would come. It felt like it was just yesterday that Yuto was still teaching him how to ride it.
“Whoo!” Yuto screamed.
He felt like the old Yuto was back.
“I’m going to get you, Yama-chan!” Yuto shouted.
The finish line was almost there so he drove even as fast as he could.
“Hey, Yama-chan, don’t go too fast!” Yuto shouted again, he sound as though he was concerned.
He smiled. Oh, how he missed and loved him!
“Whoo!” he shouted when he won. “I won! I won!” he said, still screaming, and raising his hands at the same time.
Yuto kept on laughing.
“I didn’t know you are that good now. Impressive!” Yuto said, still laughing.
He knew that he won because Yuto decided to be the loser. That thought made him happy. He still cared for him. And that was a good sign. He only had to get him listen to his explanations.
He looked at Yuto’s smiling face. He wished that would stay always like that. He didn’t want him to be sad again. He loved seeing his smiles. He didn’t notice tears are already forming in his eyes.
“Hey. Why?” Yuto asked.
“N-Nothing,” he said, smiling now. “I just… I just never thought this day would ever come.”
Yuto’s smile faded.
“When we had deal to have a racing in bicycles, I didn’t know it would be granted, Yuto. But now it happened and… and I am so happy.”
“This would have happened a long time ago if you didn’t leave,” Yuto said bitterly. “Did you ever realize that you left me when I needed you the most? If I can remember that things you said when we last saw each other, how you confronted me, I can feel hatred. How could you have said you love me and you’ll always be there for me when you didn’t really have any plans on fulfilling it? How could you have hurt me that way, Ryosuke? And how can you act just like nothing happened?”
“Yuto… I-I have my reasons. If you will only listen-“
“What’s the reason? So your dreams will come true? Did you ever see me being a hindrance? I never thought you’d ever want to go to the States. You never mentioned it to me. You never gave me a time to understand you.”
“Yuto-“
“Were you afraid that I would become poor and you’d suffer on my side? Is that why you left, Ryosuke?”
“Yuto, that’s not the reason. I had to leave, Yuto. I had to-“
“Why? Why did you have to leave? Why didn’t you say it to me? You knew you can always talk to me.”
“I know… I know.. Yuto-“
Before he could finish his explanations, a horn from the car interrupted them.
“Yuto. Thank God, I saw you,” the person in the car said, then looked at him.
“Chinen, what’s wrong?”
“I need your opinion on something. In a business. I rely on your opinion regarding that matter. You’re an expert when it comes to that. Please,” the guy continued, then looked at him again. “Uhm, can I borrow Yuto for a while?” he asked him.
“Chinen, meet Ryosuke, an… an old friend of mine. Yama-chan, that’s Chinen, a family friend,” Yuto introduced them from each other.
An old friend. That was Yuto’s impression on him now. He felt his heart hurting so much because of that.
“Nice meeting you, Chinen,” he said to the other guy.
“Same here, Yama-chan,” Chinen said while smiling, then looked at Yuto again. “Yuto, please?”
He didn’t know Yuto was seeing somebody.
“You go ahead. I have my bike. I can manage to go home,” he said to them. He can feel his heart hurting so much.
“No, I’ll take you home,” Yuto said, looking at him intently.
“You go ahead. I’ll be okay.”
“Thanks for understanding, Yama-chan,” Chinen said sweetly. “C’mon, Yuto.”
“I’ll go ahead.” Then he turned his back on them.
“Ryosuke!” He can still hear Yuto calling his name.
But he didn’t bother looking at them again. He was hurting so much.
He was jealous. Was Chinen important to Yuto too?
Until he got home, he was still angry. He just stayed in his room the whole day, crying in the corner.

Yamada woke up at seven in the evening. He was just in his room for the whole day. He slept from four in afternoon yesterday. He felt his stomach grumbling for food. So he decided to come to a Japanese restaurant with Daiki in the Seishun Road. Because he was angry, he felt a sudden craving for food. And he knew where exactly they needed to go.
While on their way to the restaurant, he saw two familiar people eating there. It was Yuto and Chinen. It seems like destiny was really playing on them. He just wanted to eat Japanese food with Daiki and he was now facing another heartbreak. He felt like he wasn’t able to move a muscle. Just by thinking that Yuto and Chinen are dating was enough to break his heart into shreds, much more to see them being together.
Yuto must have felt that someone was looking at him, so he looked up. He was facing him so Yuto saw him immediately.
He became angry to his self because tears are now visible on his eyes. He felt as though he just caught Yuto cheating on him. He left him for four years. He only left him a letter. Yuto still didn’t know what happened to him.
Was still there a chance for him to tell him about it? What for? Is there a second chance? He would just make Yuto and Chinen’s life messy. What would happen if Yuto would know the truth? Will he feel pity for him and come back to his side?
He couldn’t take it. Maybe he came back too late. There wasn’t a second chance for them after all. Because of the much hurt he felt, he came to the point on giving up.
“Yama-chan..” that was what he read from Yuto’s lips while looking at him. That was when his tears fell. He then walked away, leaving Daiki.
He rushed to his car.
“Yama-chan!” He heard Yuto called him.
He still can’t stop his tears from falling. And he didn’t want Yuto to see him like that.
But Yuto caught him even before he could make it to his car.
“Yama-chan…” Yuto was surprised when he noticed he was crying. “Yama-chan, I… Chinen and I were just… We… I… Hey, wait a second,” Yuto said. “Why are you crying? Why were you looking at me like.. it’s as though I am cheating on you?”
He can’t utter a word because of the so much emotion he felt.
“Don’t ever forget who left who, Ryosuke. Why should I explain to you anyway? You ended everything from us the moment you left. So don’t act like I’m hurting you, because it’s you who have hurt me. I was almost dying because of that. You don’t have the right to act this way. You’re not even my boyfriend anymore.”
He wiped his tears. “You’re right, Yuto. I don’t have the right to act this way. So? I don’t give a damn even if you and Chine are dating. You have every right to do what you want,” he said while tears are running on his cheeks. “I left you when you needed me the most. And I have to be punished for that,” he finished, then trying to come inside his car now.
“What is wrong with you, Yamada Ryosuke?” Yuto was now holding his arms, that made him face him again. Yuto was gripping his arms so much that it was hurting.
“You’re hurting me, Yuto.”
“Hurt?” Yuto asked, hatred was on his eyes. “What do you know about being hurt, Ryosuke? You already killed me when you left! You didn’t even consider my feelings. You didn’t know anything!”
“I know! I know how it felt!” he snapped. “I perfectly know what you are referring, Yuto! Because I kept on having those feelings when I left you! It hurt so much knowing I would never see you again. I was about to die and I can’t see you anymore. It hurt so much thinking I can’t tell you what I was going through. I didn’t want you to know I was dying so I left!” he managed to finish it, but he had gone weak after he said those things. He was shaking.
He can see that Yuto was surprised. He was too.
“W-what? W-what did you say?” Yuto asked him in a broken voice.
Before Yuto could move, he gathered his strength to walk away and go inside his car.
“Y-Yama-chan! W-wait!” he heard Yuto call him.
He ignored him, until he was sobbing.
He was crying so much while driving. He didn’t even know where he was going.

Yuto didn’t know what to do when Inoo-baasan and Yabu-jiisan confessed him the truth. That was when he followed Yamada in going home. He can’t move after hearing everything.
“I didn’t want you to know I was dying so I left.”
Those were Yamada’s words and it was still kept on ringing on his head. He didn’t know what to do and wasn’t able to go back to the restaurant to explain everything to Chinen. Chinen just invited him to a dinner for a thank you gift for his help.
He said yes because he wanted to prove that he can still go out with others. But he realized that he still loved Yamada. And that he was everything that he wants. And he knew that the dinner he had with Chinen won’t be followed with another one. He intended to hear Yamada’s explanations.
He wanted to understand him and why he left. He still loved him even before and now. He still wanted to be with him forever after all that happened.
But he saw Yamada outside the restaurant. He felt so guilty. He felt as though he was cheating on him.
That was when he freaked out. And that was when Yamada accidentally said why he left. Everything was still confusing to him so he followed him.
In front of Yamada’s grandparents, his tears fell. He can’t believe that while he was having the hatred for Yamada, the other guy was having a hard time. That he was fighting for his life though he knew it was a losing battle.
Yabu-jiisan said that Yamada kept on fighting and that he wanted to be back to his side. And now he came back. But what did he do? Instead of listening to his reasons, he was rejecting him.
“Yamada loves you so much Yuto,” Inoo-baasan said while tears are also visible in her eyes. “We wanted to tell you everything but he kept on telling us not to tell you. He was thinking for your own good. He wanted you to get angry to him than just to let you know he was sick.”
Yamada was dying from a heart failure and he didn’t have any idea about it. He was already ill for too long. It was not just a simple asthma just like what he kept on saying to him.
“If you want me to do one thing? Physically? I want to run, run as fast as I could,” he remembered him saying that.
“To run?”
“Yes.”
“Why? Didn’t you experience running?”
“I never had a chance,” Yamada said, his voice was covered with a sudden sadness.”Because.. I have.. asthma..”
Now he knew. And he ached for the young Yamada who couldn’t even run as fast as he could. He ached for the Yamada who chose to be alone rather than have friends. God, he ached for his Yamada who had suffered so much.
He can imagine what Yamada had gone through. The last day they met, he didn’t even had the chance to help him. He can perfectly see the pain in his eyes that day. There were things he didn’t know. There were many things that he never had the chance to know.
That was all because of Yamada’s love for him. He wanted to spare him for all the hurt he should have suffered. He faced everything alone.
Oh, God, my Ryosuke…
He sobbed in front of Inoo-baasan and Yabu-jiisan. The two just hugged him.
“It’s over now, Yuto. Now both of you are given another chance to continue your love. Go to him, Yuto. He was on his room. Go to him and bring him home. That was what he ever wanted.”
He promised to bring him home, home to where he belonged, where he had always belonged.

Yuto’s steps were so heavy when he was on his way to Yamada’s room. When he was already in front of the door of Yamada’s room, the turned the knob. It opened. Yamada wasn’t on his room. He saw that the sliding door was open in his terrace. That was where he saw him crying while hugging his knees on a corner.
He stayed looking at him for a while, then went to his side quietly. He sat beside him. Yamada was shocked when he saw him. He got teary-eyed immediately. He was so beautiful despite his tears.
He was now home with him. He had every time in the world to show him how much he loved him. And he uttered a prayer of thanks to God who made this reunion possible. And he would be forever grateful.

Yamada was shocked when Yuto was now beside him but his heart wasn’t. Somehow, his heart knew he would come. After he cried and cried, his heart was waiting for him. If there was still love in his heart left for him, he would come. If not, that would be a sign that there wasn’t a second chance for them anymore.
But then he came. That was when he started crying again.
Their eyes met and they were both crying. Then they both smiled.
There would be a future for them. He could clearly see it in his eyes.
Yuto was crying while hugging him tightly. “Yama-chan.. Yama-chan.. my Yama-chan..” Yuto kept on saying.
He hugged him tightly too.
Then Yuto touched his face. “Yama-chan, I was just thinking of your experiences and I want to be angry now. You didn’t give me a chance to be there for you.”
“Yuto, I love you so much. I didn’t know I was going to survive. I knew it was a losing battle. And I don’t wanna be another worrisome for you. Your family needed you. And I don’t want your attention to be devided between us. I wanted to help you but I didn’t had the ways how. I knew I was dying.”
“Oh, Yama-chan… Forgive me during those times. If I knew, I would have been there. I would have-“
“There’s nothing you should be sorry about. I was the one who needed to say sorry to you, for hurting you and for-“
“What I went through was nothing compared to yours, Yama-chan. I want us to start anew. I want us to face the future together. We’ve been given a second chance and we’ll make the most out of it. Marry me, Yama-chan, please… my love for you never changed. I tried to forget you but even having those hatred, I still love you. That dinner with Chinen, it was nothing. Believe me. That was the first time we went out. He wanted to thank me and… oh, Yama-chan, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I love you so much.”
“I understand. And I’ll marry you, Yuto.”
“Thank God.” That was it and he kissed him on his lips. By the kiss, Yuto let him know how much he had missed him. He kissed him back with the same intensity. He wanted to show him how much he had longed for him, too.
“How are you now? Does is still hurt if I hug you so tight?” Yuto asked him with a hint of concern in his voice.
“No. I’m already healed. Even the scar has been healed already.” He opened his shirt so Yuto can see the stitches.
“Let me take a look at it,” Yuto said lovingly. “Oh… is it okay if I touch it?” he asked.
He nodded. He then put Yuto’s hand on his chest. He can see that tears are forming on Yuto’s eyes again.
“We had a miracle, Yama-chan,” Yuto said. Then lovingly kissed the stitches. That made him teary-eyed again.
“I will love you for always, Ryosuke.”
“I love you, Yuto, for always,” he said.
“When you were healed, what was the first thing you did, Yama-chan?”
He gave him a sweet smile. “I ran, Yuto,” he answered happily. “I ran as fast as I could… and for as long as I could.”
Yuto gave him a kiss again.
“`Figured as much,” Yuto said. “Welcome home, Yama-chan.”
“It’s great to be finally home, Yuto.” He leaned on Yuto’s shoulders then hugged him. He closed his eyes and prayed silently to God…
For this miracle.
For this second chance.
And for this life.

Daiki was left walking in the sidewalks and stopped outside in a pet shop. He was looking at the cute animals.
He needed time to have fun. He was still hurting. He knew Yamada can’t love him back. He knew it for the long time. But at least now, he was able to confess to him.
“Hey~” that interrupted his thoughts.
He looked at the guy beside him and knotted his forehead. And who the hell is this guy who interrupted him on his drama? He was being emo out there, what the hell.
“What?” he asked the guy beside him. Somehow, he looked familiar. Ah! If he wasn’t mistaken, he was a family friend of Yuto.
“You are Daiki, right?” the small guy asked.
“Yeah. So?” he asked.
“Oh, nothing, how are you?”
“I’m fine, thank you. And would you please introduce yourself to me first?” he said, smirking.
“You don’t know me? That’s new. Mostly guys and girls know me.” The small guy beamed. “I’m Chinen Yuri.” He then smiled.
Oh, this guy’s going to be irritating, he muttered.
“Okay.” He just said.
“Don’t you dare came near to Yama-chan again,” Chinen said, breaking their silence.
That made him looked at the guy again.
“Why? You like him too?” he asked, amusement are visible on his eyes.
“Stupid! I like Yuto.” Chinen snapped.
“Oh, I see.. So, why would you want me to stay away from Yama-chan?” he asked.
“Because he’s now happy with Yuto..” Chinen answered, his eyes are sad.
“Same goes to you. Stay away from Yuto..”
“Of course..” Chinen sighed.
There was a moment of silence again.
“So, where are you going now?” Chinen asked. “You won’t become Yama-chan’s housemaid again, right?” he continued.
He sighed. “Yeah, as a matter of fact I already left the house. I’m going to take a vacation.. How about you? Going back home?”
Chinen smiled. “No, I’m going on a vacation too. Say, how about let’s take it together?”
“HA?” He looked at Chinen with wide eyes.
“Hey! What are you thinking? I mean, we’re both hurting and we needed a vacation, so how about we take it together. It’s lonely to be alone again.” Chinen explained.
“Ah. Okay.. Where to?”
“How about Okinawa?” Chinen asked.
“That’s good enough..” He agreed.
“Stop looking at me..” Chinen said.
“Oi, I’m not looking at you..” Daiki said.
“You are..” Chinen insisted.
“I told you I’m not.. I’m looking at the one you’re holding..” Daiki explained.
“Ah! This is my hamster, his name is Ryutaro, but you can call him Taro for short. Kawaii, deshou?” Chinen beamed.
“Yes, very cute..” he smiled too, touching the hamster.
“Hey. Don’t touch it!” Chinen snapped.
“Why not?” he said, still touching it.
“Just because!” Chinen pouted.
Daiki just stuck his tongue out to Chinen. And continued touching it.
“If you won’t stop, I won’t spend my vacation with you..” Chinen said, still pouting.
“The hell I care.” Daiki said, grinning. But stopped touching the hamster.
Chinen looked at him seriously.
“Dai-chan, don’t fall in love with me.” Chinen said.
He looked at Chinen. Amused. “Ha!?”
“I said, don’t fall in love with me, you idiot deaf penguin!” Chinen exclaimed.
He twitched his lips. “I have Yama-chan, you noisy little squirrel!” he said.
“Okay..” Chinen finally smiled. “And hey, I’m not a squirrel, you short guy!”
“You’re the one who’s going to fall in love with me..” Daiki declared, grinning widely. “And look who’s talking, you dwarf.”
“I have Yuto! You little ant!”
“Stop it you chipmunk!”
“So, I guess it’s safe, ne..” Chinen said, ending their silly fight.
“Safe?”
“It’s safe. We won’t fall in love with each other..” Chinen said. “Are you really that idiot?”
Daiki glared at Chinen. “And you think you are that smart? He mocked. Then grabbed the hamster in his hands.
“Hey! Give hamster Taro back to me!!”
“Yada~” Daiki teased Chinen then started walking away.
“YOU PENGUIN! WAIT TILL I GET YOU!”

Ano ne, I have the tendency of ending my fics with a long chapter.. >XD I hope this chapter is enough to pay for all the short ones I posted.. hihi. “I don’t have time for your silly games, Ryosuke."
“A deal is a deal, Yuto. And this time, I know I can beat you. I’ve practiced a lot, you know.”
“Hah! Really?”
“Yeah, really. `Want to try me? Or are you just afraid I will beat you? Like I’ve heard, you do nothing but just working so that means you didn’t have time to practice anymore. That’s why you are afraid that I can beat you now.”
“Nobody had ever beaten me when it comes to racing bicycles, Ryosuke,” Yuto said. He felt a sudden happiness.
“I don’t believe it.”
“Nobody, Ryosuke,” Yuto said again.
“Then I’m going to be the first to beat you, Yuto. Want to see yourself?” he challenged him.
“Call!”
“All right!” he said, with a wide smile. Gotcha, Yuto.

Both Yamada and Yuto are driving the bicycles fast. They look like some kids. They kept on screaming while having the race. Yamada was so happy in that moment. He didn’t expect that day would come. It felt like it was just yesterday that Yuto was still teaching him how to ride it.
“Whoo!” Yuto screamed.
He felt like the old Yuto was back.
“I’m going to get you, Yama-chan!” Yuto shouted.
The finish line was almost there so he drove even as fast as he could.
“Hey, Yama-chan, don’t go too fast!” Yuto shouted again, he sound as though he was concerned.
He smiled. Oh, how he missed and loved him!
“Whoo!” he shouted when he won. “I won! I won!” he said, still screaming, and raising his hands at the same time.
Yuto kept on laughing.
“I didn’t know you are that good now. Impressive!” Yuto said, still laughing.
He knew that he won because Yuto decided to be the loser. That thought made him happy. He still cared for him. And that was a good sign. He only had to get him listen to his explanations.
He looked at Yuto’s smiling face. He wished that would stay always like that. He didn’t want him to be sad again. He loved seeing his smiles. He didn’t notice tears are already forming in his eyes.
“Hey. Why?” Yuto asked.
“N-Nothing,” he said, smiling now. “I just… I just never thought this day would ever come.”
Yuto’s smile faded.
“When we had deal to have a racing in bicycles, I didn’t know it would be granted, Yuto. But now it happened and… and I am so happy.”
“This would have happened a long time ago if you didn’t leave,” Yuto said bitterly. “Did you ever realize that you left me when I needed you the most? If I can remember that things you said when we last saw each other, how you confronted me, I can feel hatred. How could you have said you love me and you’ll always be there for me when you didn’t really have any plans on fulfilling it? How could you have hurt me that way, Ryosuke? And how can you act just like nothing happened?”
“Yuto… I-I have my reasons. If you will only listen-“
“What’s the reason? So your dreams will come true? Did you ever see me being a hindrance? I never thought you’d ever want to go to the States. You never mentioned it to me. You never gave me a time to understand you.”
“Yuto-“
“Were you afraid that I would become poor and you’d suffer on my side? Is that why you left, Ryosuke?”
“Yuto, that’s not the reason. I had to leave, Yuto. I had to-“
“Why? Why did you have to leave? Why didn’t you say it to me? You knew you can always talk to me.”
“I know… I know.. Yuto-“
Before he could finish his explanations, a horn from the car interrupted them.
“Yuto. Thank God, I saw you,” the person in the car said, then looked at him.
“Chinen, what’s wrong?”
“I need your opinion on something. In a business. I rely on your opinion regarding that matter. You’re an expert when it comes to that. Please,” the guy continued, then looked at him again. “Uhm, can I borrow Yuto for a while?” he asked him.
“Chinen, meet Ryosuke, an… an old friend of mine. Yama-chan, that’s Chinen, a family friend,” Yuto introduced them from each other.
An old friend. That was Yuto’s impression on him now. He felt his heart hurting so much because of that.
“Nice meeting you, Chinen,” he said to the other guy.
“Same here, Yama-chan,” Chinen said while smiling, then looked at Yuto again. “Yuto, please?”
He didn’t know Yuto was seeing somebody.
“You go ahead. I have my bike. I can manage to go home,” he said to them. He can feel his heart hurting so much.
“No, I’ll take you home,” Yuto said, looking at him intently.
“You go ahead. I’ll be okay.”
“Thanks for understanding, Yama-chan,” Chinen said sweetly. “C’mon, Yuto.”
“I’ll go ahead.” Then he turned his back on them.
“Ryosuke!” He can still hear Yuto calling his name.
But he didn’t bother looking at them again. He was hurting so much.
He was jealous. Was Chinen important to Yuto too?
Until he got home, he was still angry. He just stayed in his room the whole day, crying in the corner.

Yamada woke up at seven in the evening. He was just in his room for the whole day. He slept from four in afternoon yesterday. He felt his stomach grumbling for food. So he decided to come to a Japanese restaurant with Daiki in the Seishun Road. Because he was angry, he felt a sudden craving for food. And he knew where exactly they needed to go.
While on their way to the restaurant, he saw two familiar people eating there. It was Yuto and Chinen. It seems like destiny was really playing on them. He just wanted to eat Japanese food with Daiki and he was now facing another heartbreak. He felt like he wasn’t able to move a muscle. Just by thinking that Yuto and Chinen are dating was enough to break his heart into shreds, much more to see them being together.
Yuto must have felt that someone was looking at him, so he looked up. He was facing him so Yuto saw him immediately.
He became angry to his self because tears are now visible on his eyes. He felt as though he just caught Yuto cheating on him. He left him for four years. He only left him a letter. Yuto still didn’t know what happened to him.
Was still there a chance for him to tell him about it? What for? Is there a second chance? He would just make Yuto and Chinen’s life messy. What would happen if Yuto would know the truth? Will he feel pity for him and come back to his side?
He couldn’t take it. Maybe he came back too late. There wasn’t a second chance for them after all. Because of the much hurt he felt, he came to the point on giving up.
“Yama-chan..” that was what he read from Yuto’s lips while looking at him. That was when his tears fell. He then walked away, leaving Daiki.
He rushed to his car.
“Yama-chan!” He heard Yuto called him.
He still can’t stop his tears from falling. And he didn’t want Yuto to see him like that.
But Yuto caught him even before he could make it to his car.
“Yama-chan…” Yuto was surprised when he noticed he was crying. “Yama-chan, I… Chinen and I were just… We… I… Hey, wait a second,” Yuto said. “Why are you crying? Why were you looking at me like.. it’s as though I am cheating on you?”
He can’t utter a word because of the so much emotion he felt.
“Don’t ever forget who left who, Ryosuke. Why should I explain to you anyway? You ended everything from us the moment you left. So don’t act like I’m hurting you, because it’s you who have hurt me. I was almost dying because of that. You don’t have the right to act this way. You’re not even my boyfriend anymore.”
He wiped his tears. “You’re right, Yuto. I don’t have the right to act this way. So? I don’t give a damn even if you and Chine are dating. You have every right to do what you want,” he said while tears are running on his cheeks. “I left you when you needed me the most. And I have to be punished for that,” he finished, then trying to come inside his car now.
“What is wrong with you, Yamada Ryosuke?” Yuto was now holding his arms, that made him face him again. Yuto was gripping his arms so much that it was hurting.
“You’re hurting me, Yuto.”
“Hurt?” Yuto asked, hatred was on his eyes. “What do you know about being hurt, Ryosuke? You already killed me when you left! You didn’t even consider my feelings. You didn’t know anything!”
“I know! I know how it felt!” he snapped. “I perfectly know what you are referring, Yuto! Because I kept on having those feelings when I left you! It hurt so much knowing I would never see you again. I was about to die and I can’t see you anymore. It hurt so much thinking I can’t tell you what I was going through. I didn’t want you to know I was dying so I left!” he managed to finish it, but he had gone weak after he said those things. He was shaking.
He can see that Yuto was surprised. He was too.
“W-what? W-what did you say?” Yuto asked him in a broken voice.
Before Yuto could move, he gathered his strength to walk away and go inside his car.
“Y-Yama-chan! W-wait!” he heard Yuto call him.
He ignored him, until he was sobbing.
He was crying so much while driving. He didn’t even know where he was going.

Yuto didn’t know what to do when Inoo-baasan and Yabu-jiisan confessed him the truth. That was when he followed Yamada in going home. He can’t move after hearing everything.
“I didn’t want you to know I was dying so I left.”
Those were Yamada’s words and it was still kept on ringing on his head. He didn’t know what to do and wasn’t able to go back to the restaurant to explain everything to Chinen. Chinen just invited him to a dinner for a thank you gift for his help.
He said yes because he wanted to prove that he can still go out with others. But he realized that he still loved Yamada. And that he was everything that he wants. And he knew that the dinner he had with Chinen won’t be followed with another one. He intended to hear Yamada’s explanations.
He wanted to understand him and why he left. He still loved him even before and now. He still wanted to be with him forever after all that happened.
But he saw Yamada outside the restaurant. He felt so guilty. He felt as though he was cheating on him.
That was when he freaked out. And that was when Yamada accidentally said why he left. Everything was still confusing to him so he followed him.
In front of Yamada’s grandparents, his tears fell. He can’t believe that while he was having the hatred for Yamada, the other guy was having a hard time. That he was fighting for his life though he knew it was a losing battle.
Yabu-jiisan said that Yamada kept on fighting and that he wanted to be back to his side. And now he came back. But what did he do? Instead of listening to his reasons, he was rejecting him.
“Yamada loves you so much Yuto,” Inoo-baasan said while tears are also visible in her eyes. “We wanted to tell you everything but he kept on telling us not to tell you. He was thinking for your own good. He wanted you to get angry to him than just to let you know he was sick.”
Yamada was dying from a heart failure and he didn’t have any idea about it. He was already ill for too long. It was not just a simple asthma just like what he kept on saying to him.
“If you want me to do one thing? Physically? I want to run, run as fast as I could,” he remembered him saying that.
“To run?”
“Yes.”
“Why? Didn’t you experience running?”
“I never had a chance,” Yamada said, his voice was covered with a sudden sadness.”Because.. I have.. asthma..”
Now he knew. And he ached for the young Yamada who couldn’t even run as fast as he could. He ached for the Yamada who chose to be alone rather than have friends. God, he ached for his Yamada who had suffered so much.
He can imagine what Yamada had gone through. The last day they met, he didn’t even had the chance to help him. He can perfectly see the pain in his eyes that day. There were things he didn’t know. There were many things that he never had the chance to know.
That was all because of Yamada’s love for him. He wanted to spare him for all the hurt he should have suffered. He faced everything alone.
Oh, God, my Ryosuke…
He sobbed in front of Inoo-baasan and Yabu-jiisan. The two just hugged him.
“It’s over now, Yuto. Now both of you are given another chance to continue your love. Go to him, Yuto. He was on his room. Go to him and bring him home. That was what he ever wanted.”
He promised to bring him home, home to where he belonged, where he had always belonged.

Yuto’s steps were so heavy when he was on his way to Yamada’s room. When he was already in front of the door of Yamada’s room, the turned the knob. It opened. Yamada wasn’t on his room. He saw that the sliding door was open in his terrace. That was where he saw him crying while hugging his knees on a corner.
He stayed looking at him for a while, then went to his side quietly. He sat beside him. Yamada was shocked when he saw him. He got teary-eyed immediately. He was so beautiful despite his tears.
He was now home with him. He had every time in the world to show him how much he loved him. And he uttered a prayer of thanks to God who made this reunion possible. And he would be forever grateful.

Yamada was shocked when Yuto was now beside him but his heart wasn’t. Somehow, his heart knew he would come. After he cried and cried, his heart was waiting for him. If there was still love in his heart left for him, he would come. If not, that would be a sign that there wasn’t a second chance for them anymore.
But then he came. That was when he started crying again.
Their eyes met and they were both crying. Then they both smiled.
There would be a future for them. He could clearly see it in his eyes.
Yuto was crying while hugging him tightly. “Yama-chan.. Yama-chan.. my Yama-chan..” Yuto kept on saying.
He hugged him tightly too.
Then Yuto touched his face. “Yama-chan, I was just thinking of your experiences and I want to be angry now. You didn’t give me a chance to be there for you.”
“Yuto, I love you so much. I didn’t know I was going to survive. I knew it was a losing battle. And I don’t wanna be another worrisome for you. Your family needed you. And I don’t want your attention to be devided between us. I wanted to help you but I didn’t had the ways how. I knew I was dying.”
“Oh, Yama-chan… Forgive me during those times. If I knew, I would have been there. I would have-“
“There’s nothing you should be sorry about. I was the one who needed to say sorry to you, for hurting you and for-“
“What I went through was nothing compared to yours, Yama-chan. I want us to start anew. I want us to face the future together. We’ve been given a second chance and we’ll make the most out of it. Marry me, Yama-chan, please… my love for you never changed. I tried to forget you but even having those hatred, I still love you. That dinner with Chinen, it was nothing. Believe me. That was the first time we went out. He wanted to thank me and… oh, Yama-chan, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I love you so much.”
“I understand. And I’ll marry you, Yuto.”
“Thank God.” That was it and he kissed him on his lips. By the kiss, Yuto let him know how much he had missed him. He kissed him back with the same intensity. He wanted to show him how much he had longed for him, too.
“How are you now? Does is still hurt if I hug you so tight?” Yuto asked him with a hint of concern in his voice.
“No. I’m already healed. Even the scar has been healed already.” He opened his shirt so Yuto can see the stitches.
“Let me take a look at it,” Yuto said lovingly. “Oh… is it okay if I touch it?” he asked.
He nodded. He then put Yuto’s hand on his chest. He can see that tears are forming on Yuto’s eyes again.
“We had a miracle, Yama-chan,” Yuto said. Then lovingly kissed the stitches. That made him teary-eyed again.
“I will love you for always, Ryosuke.”
“I love you, Yuto, for always,” he said.
“When you were healed, what was the first thing you did, Yama-chan?”
He gave him a sweet smile. “I ran, Yuto,” he answered happily. “I ran as fast as I could… and for as long as I could.”
Yuto gave him a kiss again.
“`Figured as much,” Yuto said. “Welcome home, Yama-chan.”
“It’s great to be finally home, Yuto.” He leaned on Yuto’s shoulders then hugged him. He closed his eyes and prayed silently to God…
For this miracle.
For this second chance.
And for this life.

Daiki was left walking in the sidewalks and stopped outside in a pet shop. He was looking at the cute animals.
He needed time to have fun. He was still hurting. He knew Yamada can’t love him back. He knew it for the long time. But at least now, he was able to confess to him.
“Hey~” that interrupted his thoughts.
He looked at the guy beside him and knotted his forehead. And who the hell is this guy who interrupted him on his drama? He was being emo out there, what the hell.
“What?” he asked the guy beside him. Somehow, he looked familiar. Ah! If he wasn’t mistaken, he was a family friend of Yuto.
“You are Daiki, right?” the small guy asked.
“Yeah. So?” he asked.
“Oh, nothing, how are you?”
“I’m fine, thank you. And would you please introduce yourself to me first?” he said, smirking.
“You don’t know me? That’s new. Mostly guys and girls know me.” The small guy beamed. “I’m Chinen Yuri.” He then smiled.
Oh, this guy’s going to be irritating, he muttered.
“Okay.” He just said.
“Don’t you dare came near to Yama-chan again,” Chinen said, breaking their silence.
That made him looked at the guy again.
“Why? You like him too?” he asked, amusement are visible on his eyes.
“Stupid! I like Yuto.” Chinen snapped.
“Oh, I see.. So, why would you want me to stay away from Yama-chan?” he asked.
“Because he’s now happy with Yuto..” Chinen answered, his eyes are sad.
“Same goes to you. Stay away from Yuto..”
“Of course..” Chinen sighed.
There was a moment of silence again.
“So, where are you going now?” Chinen asked. “You won’t become Yama-chan’s housemaid again, right?” he continued.
He sighed. “Yeah, as a matter of fact I already left the house. I’m going to take a vacation.. How about you? Going back home?”
Chinen smiled. “No, I’m going on a vacation too. Say, how about let’s take it together?”
“HA?” He looked at Chinen with wide eyes.
“Hey! What are you thinking? I mean, we’re both hurting and we needed a vacation, so how about we take it together. It’s lonely to be alone again.” Chinen explained.
“Ah. Okay.. Where to?”
“How about Okinawa?” Chinen asked.
“That’s good enough..” He agreed.
“Stop looking at me..” Chinen said.
“Oi, I’m not looking at you..” Daiki said.
“You are..” Chinen insisted.
“I told you I’m not.. I’m looking at the one you’re holding..” Daiki explained.
“Ah! This is my hamster, his name is Ryutaro, but you can call him Taro for short. Kawaii, deshou?” Chinen beamed.
“Yes, very cute..” he smiled too, touching the hamster.
“Hey. Don’t touch it!” Chinen snapped.
“Why not?” he said, still touching it.
“Just because!” Chinen pouted.
Daiki just stuck his tongue out to Chinen. And continued touching it.
“If you won’t stop, I won’t spend my vacation with you..” Chinen said, still pouting.
“The hell I care.” Daiki said, grinning. But stopped touching the hamster.
Chinen looked at him seriously.
“Dai-chan, don’t fall in love with me.” Chinen said.
He looked at Chinen. Amused. “Ha!?”
“I said, don’t fall in love with me, you idiot deaf penguin!” Chinen exclaimed.
He twitched his lips. “I have Yama-chan, you noisy little squirrel!” he said.
“Okay..” Chinen finally smiled. “And hey, I’m not a squirrel, you short guy!”
“You’re the one who’s going to fall in love with me..” Daiki declared, grinning widely. “And look who’s talking, you dwarf.”
“I have Yuto! You little ant!”
“Stop it you chipmunk!”
“So, I guess it’s safe, ne..” Chinen said, ending their silly fight.
“Safe?”
“It’s safe. We won’t fall in love with each other..” Chinen said. “Are you really that idiot?”
Daiki glared at Chinen. “And you think you are that smart? He mocked. Then grabbed the hamster in his hands.
“Hey! Give hamster Taro back to me!!”
“Yada~” Daiki teased Chinen then started walking away.
“YOU PENGUIN! WAIT TILL I GET YOU!”
