I'll keep it short...
I'm praying for those families of lost veterans. I advise that we all do the same (or if not through prayer, through silent meditation and thanksgiving).
It is one of the most important days in our lives; yet nothing at school or on TV has really made a note of it.
I cherish this day, and pray for those who have fought in wars from the industrial ages, to our conflicts in the middle-east.
May God give them grace, serenity, and strength.
May God give us the ability to stray away from our vain and selfish desires, and focus completely on the sacrifice these men have given us.
May we thank both God and these soldiers for the safety we find in our homes. For the streets in which we have the freedom to roam. For the lack of war and violence we have seen on our soil. For the safety of our families. For the blood shed to cleanse our lives of fear.
May we show humility and may those veterans who have never received a 'thank you' be given wonderous praise on this important day.
Amen.
