So we talked about the impact of the internet, and more so the impact of LJ or generally just blogging. Especially as far as having a small tight knit community of users. Does it help or hurt the relationships of the people. It could help by...
a. making people talk about things they would usually avoid.
b. reveal emotions that might be repressed.
it could hurt/be completely retarded by...
a. giving people huge balls (so they say stuff they don't mean and probably would never say.)
b. giving people time to read too deeply into often fleeting emotions or statements.
c. manufacturing drama (by the truckload)
I really had more to say, but I got in a big conversation with Ryan about how we have a disposable culture and how our generation is wired into systemics instead of linear views. Like how we're all task oriented, and how older people are goal oriented. which isn't really true but it fits with my hypothesis, and now that I've talked myself out of it I feel really dumb.
Oh, and Jackie Brown is awesome. Quintin Tarentino strikes again.
So does the harry potter movie.
and screwdrivers.
