So, here I am in college. This entire experience, starting from the summer of last year has just been one disaster after another. First with visiting, then with applying, and all that crap with Delaware, and with auditioning and deciding...ahhh. And the whole time, it was my parents' goading that made me do it. Honestly, if left to my own ( Read more... )

Karen, I seriously could relate to almost EVERYTHING you wrote in this post. It's almost scary. I already dropped all of my music classes though, because I was so uncomfortable and unsure about them, because everyone in the music department here was making it seem like I needed this "passion" for doing it, and yea I like music, but I don't know. I don't really have a "passion" for anything... And my parents came down this weekend too. And I feel like I'm letting Mr. Kramer down now... And seriously, everything. Well, except I don't have mono. But even not even wanting to go to college, just doing it because I was expected to even though I'm not ready. But yea. Reading about how, I don't know what word to use, but stressful I guess your expirience has been thus far actually made me feel a lot better. I don't mean that like "Yessss I'm so happy Karen is stressed out to the max" but more like "Yessss I'm not the only one." I hope that made sense. Well, anyways, I hope things get better for you.

Oh, and on a more cheerful note, I hear that you met Drew Slocum! =) haha He facebooked me and told me he met a former classmate of mine (you!) =P

I'm glad I could make you feel better about not being the only one. I'm pretty sure this is a rather common thing to be going through. But I've decided that you just have to do what feels right, whatever it is. Whatever you choose is what's supposed to happen, and you can't worry about pleasing others. If you ever want to talk about anything, don't hesitate. We're in the same boat haha. And yess I met Drew! I was so surprised when he said he knew you, because he said he was from Dallas. It's nice to have people around that know what NEPA means haha..
