"Across the Universe" by Bean
graphite and sharpie on paper
18x24
Another piece of art from Bean's portfolio review. This is the first large Beatles poster Bean drew. It is her Across The Universe poster. She has loved that song since she was a Wee Bean. She noted early on that the lyrics are beautifully poetic. She memorized them when she was still in elementary school, maybe fourth grade. The lyrics take you, well, across the universe, and my daughter has liked where they take her for much of her life. As Bean travels across the universe, I hope her spirit is well cared for and that her journey is as beautiful as this song and her art. I'll give these two posters some breathing room (this and the one from my previous post) before traveling further through the universe of Bean's portfolio.

Across The Universe Lyrics
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me
Jai Guru Deva OM
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes
They call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe
Jai Guru Deva OM
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter, shades of life are ringing through my open ears
Inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on, across the universe
Jai Guru Deva OM
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Jai Guru Deva
