HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
2006 is here, and i'm ready to start off fresh. this journal also turned three years old today...i can't believe i still have this thing. i don't believe in "resolutions" so much as i believe in lists of things i plan to do. but, first in retrospect...
last year:
- i joined the 21st century and gave in to getting a cellphone.
- got into four car accidents...i dare you all to top that (unless you have already).
- cosplayed for the first, and probably last, time.
- made it through another two challenging semesters. i am a better student now.
there are other things that i can't think of, but in general, it was a better year than the one before it...
this year
- i played an upright bass for the first time (early, early this morning)
- i should be going to japan for three weeks in the summer, fulfilling a dream i've had for 15 years.
- i plan to improve my japanese, both oral and written.
- i plan to get an internship somewhere to get "real world" experience.
- i plan to start playing music with people again.
- i will have existed a quarter century, come may.
- i plan to read more, which i already have started.
- i will get stronger in mind and body.
- i will pay off that pesky car loan that i've had for about four years.
- i will get closer and closer to graduating college.
i have more goals, but this is the beginning. if all goes to plan, as things never do, this will be a life-altering year for me like never before.
new years eve celebrations
to celebrate the coming of the new year, vic, jenna, and i went to kira's house in west milford for her get-together. i had a really good time. there were about 10 or so people there. kira, jamison, rob, mikey, his gf kendra, and about five other of kira's friends. i took tons of pictures that i will probably post on myspace in a blog. i got to play an upright bass for the first time, which was pretty exciting. the thing was much bigger than me, but i played some scales the best i could. although i didn't drink or anything, i was somehow inebriated anyway. weird. didn't get home til 4:00. probably one of the best new years i've had.
i hope all of you have had a happy and safe new year. now we can all look ahead and move forward.
now, i must eat! i haven't had a meal in almost two days...
