HOLY CRAP I cannot believe some people!

There is this woman in my mommy group on Facebook - we all started together on another site; we posted in a forum for women all due in August of 2008 and moved to FB - that posted a complaint. Some family member bought her son new shoes. The shoes are: A. Too big; and B. Toy Story 3 shoes, so they don't match anything. And she was wondering if she should exchange them for something that matches.

Okay:

First of all, if they're too big, he'll grow into them.

Second of all, who gives a shit if they match anything? HE'S TWO YEARS OLD!! I stopped caring a long time ago about whether or not Allyson's shoes match her outfit exactly (and by "a long time ago," I mean "before she was born"). Most of the time, nobody says anything. On the rare occasion when someone does say something, I just tell them she picked it out herself that day. Which is usually true - she has this one pair of pink sandal-like shoes she currently wants to wear just about everywhere. As long as she's wearing shoes, I don't really care.

Thirdly: HELLO, FREE SHOES. Shoes for kids, in my experience, tend to be sort of expensive. Plus they don't wear them as long as we adults wear ours.

There! I feel better now.

In other news, now Allyson is in a Caillou phase. She is all about "Yi-you" and his sister "Wosie." I'm thinking she could have picked a less annoying show, but it sure is a nice change from All Elmo All the Time.
