San Fran's MOMA is fantastic.
Alcatraz was my favorite part of the city.
The Wharf is fun in general - sea lions, little shops, fun.
Chinatown is good.
ummm the Missions.
But I recommended either the MOMA or Alcatraz.

My default retreat in SF is always Golden Gate Park, in particular, the area around the DeYoung museum and Japanese Tea Garden. The museum's permanent collection is very good, and their feature gallery appears to be Chihuly right now, so if you're into glass...

The garden is just permanently programmed in my mind as a relaxing place, even when there are crowds or children or whatever. The tea is also very good there, and comes with Japanese crunchy snacks, of which you can buy more if you feel the urge.

Don't know what all of that does for your bag, though....

Have fun!

Check bag at museum. http://www.famsf.org/deyoung/visiting/subpage.asp?subpagekey=958

Have lunch at museum, or tea at tea garden, or both. Easy. :)
