you should actually read my long entries since i only post a few times a semester though. but if you don't want to read them, that's cool too. semi-funny stories:
1. nasty roman: BACKGROUND: last night i went to the alley in rome for only the second time ever. i went with my roommate, lisa and one of her friends, ashley from my hall, and julie. it was very spontaneous because at first we were gonna go because it was supposed to be costume night and lisa, audrey, and ashley had their great desperate housewives costumes and i had my infamous flapper outfit. then we found out that the club changed costume night from thursday night (college night) to saturday night. so we were momentarily bummed, but i had an essay due the next morning anyhow. then we decided to go anyway, but i didnt go in costume. met shannon and one of her friends there. THE STORY: random guy starts dancing with me...kinda uncool dancing, but not too bad...then all of the sudden he pulls out this can of tobacco and dips WHILE DANCING WITH ME! it was so disgusting that i almost puked. horrified, i stopped dancing with him pronto. damn romans!
2. the other day in IR. BACKGROUND: for those who dont know, that's international relations, otherwise known as the most boring class i have this semester even though it's my only gov class. i really don't like the prof and i sleep in there most every day despite my efforts to stay awake. i have even learned to sleep while chewing gum which will possibly kill me. THE STORY: so i have an astronomy test the next class and i still havent reviewed it all so i have my textbook out during astronomy reviewing while rafferty is lecturing. warren (the guy next to me) has a paper out from another class and he's skimming it quietly. all of the sudden rafferty walks over and angrily tells him to "put that away." what the hell? i have never seen a prof in college tell a student to stop doing work for another class during lecture. i mean, damn, this is not high school. but the best part is she never says a word to me even though i very obviously have a textbook from another class out! so i did get to study the rest of the class period. warren wasn't so lucky.

so tonight was pretty lame. i went to dinner with julie at zaxbys because we thought it would be fast, but apparently it's a happenin place in rome on friday nights and it took forever to get our food. so then when she dropped me back at my dorm i had already missed the first half hour or so of the outdoor movie and audrey was already out there and i couldnt get in touch with her. but the movie was what lies beneath (with harrison, whom lauren today called "my baby daddy"), so i felt an obligation to be there. so i definitely went to the outdoor movie and sat on a beach towel in 2 shirts, a sweatshirt, and a jacket and gloves. some random girl even asked me if i was ok sitting by myself. i guess she thought i was lame. what the heck? i can't watch a movie by myself?
i only had one class today, spanish, and all we were doing was watching a movie (the mission) so i was proud of myself for going. the movie is actually pretty interesting. plus i may not do all my homework and reading any more, but i'm no class skipper.
i swam laps today. only an 1100 though. it feels like twice as much when you have a current to go through and no lane ropes, so it's like a fucking ocean. i think it's twice the workout of a normal pool. i had planned to get there earlier so i would have more than 25 minutes to swim, but that didnt happen. haha. afterwards i almost fell asleep since nobody showed up to lap swim (as usual). only 11 kids came with the after school program so that was okay. and the youngest of the water aerobics ladies, rebecca, had a discussion with me about the alley and then she was a bad influence on me because she argued that underage drinking was more fun than legal drinking. it was funny. and rhonda put up a dry erase board on the wall by the pool so i used it to add up the length of my workout. it was pretty sweet. i'll be able to write out a workout before hand now. too bad we can't get the clocks to work. that would be awesome.
i've decided i need a car just to get to places i need to go not far from campus. earlier in the week i was freaking out because i was required to go to a night lab for astronomy that required me to be 10 miles or so up a mountain at the observatory. yes it is on campus but even if i had a bike i couldnt get that far. i really hate how this is definitely not the first time i have been required to be somewhere that wasnt within walking distance. berry profs need to recognize that not everyone has a car. although when they see the freshman girl in the brand new mercedes benz im sure they just generalize. i also need a way just to get to mt. berry square...the movie theatre, the mall, food, circuit city. it's where i want to be but i can never find people to do stuff with. and i really need to get to wachovia. this semester i have spent literally every penny i have made at work because i have no other option but to cash my paychecks at the cashier's window on campus. turns out when you have cash, you tend to spend a lot more than when you have a dollar and a lot in your bank account. debting feels worse because it's like taking part of your savings away.
well now that i have sufficiently bored you with the boring boring details of my musings today, i'm gonna go to bed.
