I am Korean
I'm trying to make this delicious cold noodle thing called NENGMYUN, but i forgot how my mom told me to make it. i can read the directions on the package, but i don't completely understand it. I stink at Korean.
In high school a lot of the Koreans I knew were total jerks. A lot of them acted the same -- they smoked, they drank, they were arrogant, they all demanded respect. I couldn't stand them, so most of my Asian friends were Chinese.
It was like that until fall 2003, when i joined the Korean hip hop team at UCLA. i made about 20 korean friends, quickly doubling the number of korean friends i had before. then in february i started going to a new church and got to know even more koreans. and you know what? a lot of the korean americans I met that are my age are awesome people. they don't fit that old ugly stereotype that i conceived back in high school. i want to get to know more koreans, i want to go to korea, and i want to learn to speak korean well. the last couple girls i liked were chinese. i think i'm going to start liking korean girls, too. haha. maybe.
