The move is complete. I am now done with school (with one glaring exception) and am now a resident of Seattle. But that's not what is making me so happy.
Jackie and I are now officially living together. It's a big step in the relationship, and one that I have been looking forward to for some time. But that isn't why I'm happy either.
I'm happy because I'm no longer a nomad. This is my home, and I plan to be here for a long time. Until now, there has basically never been a time in my life when I didn't know when I planned to move. I went from Spokane to Tacoma to Australia to Tacoma to Port Orchard to Spokane and back and forth between Spokane and Seattle. I'm missing some moves in there as well, such as when I would move home for 3 months in the summer.
The number of moves probably isn't that strange for anyone who has taken as much school as me. Also, with the exception of Australia, the locations I've lived are in very close proximity to one another. But now I have one place, everything I own fits in it, and I can stay here for a long time. This is very comforting.
