Beware: Ranting about politics and other things I don't normally discuss
After having to mute the TV countless times last night because of political commercials, I have officially decided that I really need to get all of this out of my system.
If you know me much at all, you know the two things I refuse to talk about in polite conversation are politics and religion. Why? Because those two subjects bring out the worst in people. They make people want to debate to prove their worth. I don't need to do that, so I usually stay away. Not this time, because I'm so sick and tired of everything that has our governing body in such disarray.
I hate my state. I'm starting to hate my country. I really don't want to be affiliated with one party or another because they all suck. Politics is just for money grubby assholes. They fact that they ALLOW big corporations to pay them so they get their way is WRONG. You know what else is wrong? Why do we have term limits on the House of Representatives and the Presidency, but NOT on the Senate? THAT is what is wrong with our government. We ALLOW these politicians to stay in office as long as they want (and they do because of getting money from big corporations and they are known names - see Distinguished Gentleman - that people will vote for because they are familiar) and make more money than the majority of the working class and THEY run this country.
I'm sure our forefathers had no idea that their followers would be so greedy. They never thought that politicians developed Napoleon and Cesar complexes so easily. While giving the Senate a term limit won't immediately affect our government, but it will show progress down the road. Maybe not in my lifetime, if it were to happen. Which it won't because THE SENATE IS WHO MAKES THE LAWS. Like hell if they're going to change anything.
Now this part is a little bit of politics and religion.
I am pretty positive that most Republicans don't believe in Darwinism. They really should, though, since they are constantly showing just how closely related they are to chimpanzees with all the shit slinging they're doing in their ads. Our Democratic representative running for Senate did not have any negative ads until her opponent put out probably 5 mudslinging ads, including one by the NRA who complained about Senator Hagen "taking away our freedoms" because she voted FOR gun regulations. If those had passed, MAYBE THERE WOULDN'T BE A FUCKING HOMICIDE TALKED ABOUT EVERY FUCKING DAY! Right, we restrict how you can have guns, what guns you can have, and you don't like it because you need your gun to carry around to the grocery store to shoot some bitch or bastard that took your fucking parking space.
People are crazy.
I believe in equality.
Equality for everyone, no matter what sex, race or religion you are. I feel women should get equal pay for equal work. I believe you should be able to marry whomever you love. I believe pharmaceuticals and insurance agencies need to fuck off and quit trying to screw everyone. I believe we all deserve healthcare and it would be easier if the pharmaceuticals and insurance agencies cooperated.
I still believe in the separation of church and state. Our country was founded because our ancestors were being forced to be Roman Catholics and they wanted the freedom to practice whatever religion they wished. I believe that if you plan to try and force your religious views on people through the government that you should not be in that position. Fuck off trying to make people believe what you believe.
These magistrates who are resigning because they just can't marry a couple of the same sex "because of their religious beliefs" should not be able to sue anyone for their job. They are the ones who brought their church into a state office. You got what you deserve.
