Tim Zahn is the SW God

I just love Zahn's writing. The book I'm currently reading, Star Wars: Allegiance, is set between A New Hope and Empire. The story has Luke, Leia, Han and Chewbacca, but also Mara Jade, one of Zahn's greatest creations, and a group of wily Elite Stormtroopers who aren't happy with their immediate bosses. Everyone is being pulled to the same place. It's going to be interesting once they all meet up. But this is the reason why I had to post.

"May the Force be with you and your decisions."

"Thank you," Leia said, suppressing a grimace as she stood up. The Force. If only she had the Jedi ability to tap into that source of power and wisdom. But she didn't.

Tim slips in these little things every once in a while to remind you what era you're reading. They make me laugh. The friction between Leia, Han and Luke is just wonderful. Adding Mara into this, knowing what she becomes, makes getting to the meat of the story even more fun. Then there's the commedic sidekick, Admiral Ozzel. What a wimp! It's great. I'm really enjoying the Stormtroopers, too. They are an interesting bunch, and based off an idea from an actual 501st member.

Ah, I love Tim Zahn.
