Dear world,

Dear world,
I hope you get better. You have given us, the people of this world, so much to thank and praise everyday. Without you, we would not be here. I wouldn't be typing on this computer, breathing, thinking, or even existing. Without you, everyone I love, and hope to love, would have never been born. Everything comes from you. We are all part of you and shall return to you one day. It is because of that I just can't hold back my feelings any longer. There is nobody to blame for the tragedies that mankind has put you through. We have scarred your face, kicked you while you were down, and continue to do so. I feel that you are giving up on us world. No, it's not that you have given up, I'm sure you are fighting for us. But we, the people of Earth, are getting stronger daily. And now, you aren't strong enough to stop us.
This year, you have reached the highest temperature ever, in all 6 billion years. Your ice caps have become smaller than ever. Thousands of species of animals, plants, and insects became extinct, while others are rapidly approaching the same fate. Countries that claim to stand for justice, equality, and freedom are raping the lands of other countries to spread this ideal, forcefully. That country's justice system has already begun to fail and is close to collapse. A government once found on liberty for all, has been corrupted to the core and all that is left is it's rotting flesh and decaying remnants. The equality that was fought for, by my ancestors, is no longer here. racism is hidden and no longer spoken about, but it's there. People of this country think the problem is solved. It no longer matters to people that their civil liberties are being taken and destroyed.
Every 2.7 seconds a child is born. Every 2.7 seconds another person is going to have live here, world. And in several 2.7 seconds from now, my child will be born. World, if nobody can stand up for you, my children will be born into one of the worst times in your history. You must be taken care of, for my sake, for everyone's sake. For everyone who'll ever be, who has ever existed. You had a plan for us that we did not follow. We lived in our own groups, and had harmony. We met other groups an wanted the things they had. Things. We thought about objects. Worldly possessions. We obsessed for them. We KILLED for them. We preached our superiority over animals and other groups. The strong survived, the weaker were annihilated. For what. For more land. For more shiny rocks. Then we evolved. We found more things to want. But they weaker people were gone, so we found those that were different and forced them to be weaker. We wanted power, control. Something you have, we want, but can never truly have. Power. Over what, this temporary situation we live in. So what. And now look where we are. Greed, and hatred control us. We build bigger and more powerful weapons, with harsher consequences. In order to support the things we want we take your resources from you faster than you can give back. Your future seems bleak to me. Your future state, the state of the world my children and grandchildren will live in saddens me to the core.
If people of this Earth would let go of things, let go of titles and money and power and control. If we could cherish the things that truly matter. Our life, this precious gift you have given us. To be able to hold another person close. To love. To raise a family. Safely, and not have to worry about death, or dying. Not worrying about having that life stolen from us. To be a global community. If people could just see that what we need in life aren't things. Its not something you can hold or touch. It's unity. Black, white, red, yellow. Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Atheist, lost, found, wondering, or confused. We are all one thing. Alive. Why fight? So what if others believe something different. Talk different, act different. What does it matter what others do with there genitalia and where they put them. You don't care. You show us what we should strive to be and we ignore you. We have ignored the signs.
So world, I feel your pain. I can't imagine you feel. I can't imagine what it feels like to give life to people who take it away from you. To love people who don't love you back. To be dying while everyone you love, everyone you have given life to fights, kills, and steals from another. From our brothers and sisters, and most of all from our mother. You, oh mother Earth. We have stolen and disrespected you the most. And I hope with all my heart that you get better.
You're Son, with love,
Casey
