Mini Meetup TOMORROW!
Hello Crew of the USS Macchiato!
Okay, due to the fact that pretty much the entire Lawrence crowd is unable to attend the meetup I'd tentatively hoped to have tomorrow, it is indeed NOT going to happen.
HOWEVER, we are having a mini-meetup here in Kansas City for those who can come.
THE PLAN: If you are interested, PLEASE E-MAIL ME at faisons (at) gmail (dot) com. I will give you my phone number.
We will meet at 2:00 PM at a local coffee house. I've been considering various locations, and I'm currently inclined to go to Dunn Brothers near 89th and Metcalf because they have cozy chairs, a fireplace, and free wi-fi. The atmosphere in there is usually quiet and conversational. However, the snacks are somewhat pricey. Another option is The Roasterie, near the plaza, at 6223 Brookside Blvd. I just find their eating areas to feel more noisy and less conversational. If you have a favorite coffee house in the KC area and you're amongst the meetup group for tomorrow, SUGGEST IT IN A COMMENT.
We hang out at the coffee house, geeking out, making meetup plans, brainstorming awesome ideas for our lovely ship, and talking Trek. I would also like to brainstorm the possibility of having a Star Trek Laser Tag Party sometime this spring. This continues until we get bored, or have another brilliant idea. Other brilliant ideas include retreating to someone's house for an episode or two of Trek, or a movie, or a real restaurant. This is all very free-flowing and unstructured. Super-simple meetup. If we want to do more fun things, we will continue to do more fun things. If people are tired, people can go home. It's a small group, and we can change plans as we need to.
But please, the most important thing is to e-mail me or post a comment below AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to make sure that we get all the information to everyone who wants to come.
