I get these emails from this hate group pretending to look out for America. I keep on that list because I believe we need to be aware of what “the enemy” is doing out there!
This week’s email concerns something called H.J. RES. 89, which would make marriage legal only between one man and one woman.
You know the first time I heard about all this kind of stuff, my first thought was not that Raymond and I could not marry, but for my polyamourous friends. I know of several triads and quads, “heterosexual-ish” bondings and my thought was, one man and one woman? But how would their rights be protected if something happened? It was only later that I suddenly thought about myself.
There has been a lot of exciting things happening on the gay marriage front of late, and it scares me a bit to think about people trying to take our rights away. One of the things the email I got expresses is that, “Our families and children need this constitutional amendment to protect marriage.”
Who’s families I ask? Even Newt Gingrich has a lesbian in his family. What about her rights?
What makes these mass emailings so bad is the scare tactics they use and the fact that even people like my own Mother respond to them, just the way they wish.
Here is the email. I hope you read it...
Democratic Party Endorses Homosexual Marriage
California Supreme Court refuses pleas from attorneys general in 10 states to delay homosexual marriage
On June 3, the Democratic National Committee issued a 2008 PRIDE proclamation supporting homosexual marriage. DNC Chairman Howard Dean and Representatives Barney Frank and Tammy Baldwin released the proclamation.
Also, in a display of sheer arrogance, the California Supreme Court has refused to delay legalization of homosexual marriage until after the people of California have a chance to vote on the issue in November. Attorneys general from 10 states asked the activist judges to delay implementing their ruling, citing the millions of dollars in litigation it will cost their respective states and the legal chaos caused by the California Supreme Court.
These activist judges clearly showed their goal is to force homosexual marriage on every American. The only way America can protect itself from such radical judges is through an amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia has introduced the Marriage Protection Amendment of 2008 (H.J. RES. 89). This amendment would make marriage legal only between a man and a woman.
Our goal is to send 1,000,000 e-mails to Congress in support of H.J. RES. 89. We have already sent over 125,000!
Homosexual activists are determined to use activist judges like those in California to force homosexual marriage on every American.
Take Action - Help Send 1,000,000 e-mails to Congress
If you have not already done so
please E-mail your representative asking him or her to co-sponsor H.J. RES. 89. Our system will automatically detect if your representative is one of the 18 co-sponsors and present you with a suggested "thank you" e-mail. If he or she is not a co-sponsor, our system will present you with an e-mail message urging your Member of Congress to support H.J. RES. 89 - the Marriage Protection Amendment (2008).
This is very important: Help us reach our goal of sending 1,000,000 e-mails to Congress. Please forward this to all your family and friends! They are probably unaware of H.J. RES. 89 because the media hasn't reported on it.
Thanks for caring enough to get involved. If you think our efforts are worthy of support, would you consider making a small, tax-deductible donation to help us continue?
Sincerely,
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman

Scarey, isn't it? And I know if my Mom got the email she dashed right to the site and did just what they wanted. MY Mom! MY LOVING MOM! The woman with a gay son!
If you go to the link and put in your zip code, it takes you to a prepared email where all you have to do is fill in your name and information. It is kinda spooky...
In my case, the letter reads as such...
I am very disappointed that the Democratic Party has endorsed homosexual marriage. I urge you to co-sponsor H.J. RES. 89, the Marriage Protection Amendment of 2008, which would make marriage legal only between a man and a woman. Our families and children need this constitutional amendment to protect marriage.
I don’t know what it reads for your state.
It is so important that if they really do send those million emails, that we send emails as well. Not just gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered persons, but anyone who is awake and sees what needs to be done. This effects all citizens of the United States. Remember the famous
Niemöller quote?
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.
We cannot be a lazy. It only takes a second.
Go to the link this group presents and punch in your zip code. This will take you to an email they’ve prepared. Then alter that email to say what is on your heart.
This is what I did...
Dear Mr. Cleaver!
I want to thank you for continuing to be such a wonderful man and the kind I am glad is in office. I was around when you were Mayor of Kansas City and included sexual orientation as a protected minority. It was a truly exciting time! It is wonderful that you are the kind of man that truly wishes equality for all.
Now I see that the Democratic Party has endorsed homosexual marriage. Thank you!!!!
Please, please do NOT co-sponsor H.J. RES. 89, the Marriage Protection Amendment of 2008, which would make marriage legal only between a man and a woman. This is patently ridiculous! Our country is about a separation of church and state, and the idea that a marriage can only be between a man and a woman is a moral issue, and not one about freedom for all peoples.
I thank God for you!
Ben (etc)
I hope like crazy that you will take one minute to send this email. I Constitutional Amendment can set us back decades, as they are very hard to overturn!
I am making this posting outside of my “friends only” filter! Please point people to this post!
HUGS and Namasté,
Ben
