Countdown...
My days are numbered...as of Thursday, I was dilated 1 centimeter and effaced 60%. Pretty good for 37 weeks. The baby's head is at a -1 position: that means the head is nearly entirely engaged in my pelvic bone.
What they don't tell you is that it's pretty painful down there as my cervix effaces. I can feel it! It's what kept me up from 1:30-5 a.m. last night. Amazing. I can actually survive on 3 hours of sleep. I wasn't nice, but there weren't too many casualties.
There are people who go into labor 0 centimeters dilated. The midwife was able to stick her finger through and feel the baby's head. Wow. But baby didn't like that. ;-)
My baby shower was incredible Sunday. I have pretty amazing friends.
Then Tuesday I got food poisoning or stomach flu or something and was laid up all day, barfing and spewing out both ends of my body. Disgusting. No clue what happened. We thought it might be early labor to begin with, but no. Just a bug. My ribs are still sore from throwing up. I was feeling better by lunch time the next day.
And my teeth are fixed. All done with dentists!! YAY! Finally!
