Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

Usually we wait until New Year's, but we're off to ski tomorrow first thing, so all the Christmas stuff had to be put away. It's always sad to take down the tree. It's one of my favourite things about Christmas. I've collected ornaments since I was a kid and I have quite a beautiful collection. Many of them are too heavy for a real tree and some of them sit back on the branch with lighter ones in front, so there are layers of ornaments on my tree and I get quite a lot of enjoyment just sitting looking at it...fireplace on, glass of wine in hand...Wrapping each one to put it away took the better part of the day. Luckily the garbage men were passing by as I was taking down the lights so they took away the tree. I felt a little guilty not sending it for recycling but I didn't have time to figure out where to take it.

Chris is in Victoria's room laying the smack down. The girls seem to be a little excited about our trip and there's not a whole lot of sleeping going on. It's been cute over the holidays; they've wanted to be together and have shared a room since Christmas Eve. We've done virtually nothing all week and it has been very nice

So Christmas is done and we're all packed and ready to go. It's a bugger packing for skiing, all those sweaters! Except for Chris' boots, we're renting equipment so at least we don't have to schlepp skis all over the place. I got Chris a ski jacket for Christmas and it's a wee bit short in the body so we went back to see if something else would suit. Unfortunately even the snowboard stuff wasn't any longer. He says the one I chose is fine but I feel bad he had to settle for something that wasn't quite right.

I'm going to veg in front of the tube for a while and then get a good night's sleep. Say a prayer that this ski trip doesn't end in disaster like the last one will ya? ;-/

Happy New Year everyone!
