I have to say that Air Tran frightened the piss out of me scared me the two times I flew their friendly skies. Let me be clear, they were absolutely fine in terms of service. I just experienced my life flashing before my eyes had some rocky moments on my trip to and from Florida. Even with those experiences, the story in the link above has almost inspired me to fly them again.
Now, I might sound like a crotchety old man and I accept that. However, when did we lose our ability to give our child "the look"? I am not even remotely advocating beating your child or instilling a fear so terrible that they end up on Oprah in 20 years. All I am saying is please either discipline your child or have enough decency to not get on the plane with a screaming brat. Yes, you paid for your seats just as the other 100 passengers on the plane did, but they did not make the choice to rear your brat. You made that choice and now you must live with the potential consequences such as not being able to make that plane when your kid won't calm down.
There ... I think I've said enough on this one. I just wish more airlines, restaurants, etc would follow suit.
