Amy's class spent time recently compiling lists of "what I've learned in elementary school". To celebrate their graduation to middle school, the teacher put all the lists together into a book for each kid to take home. I got a kick out of reading them today, so I thought I'd share Amy's list with you.
1. I've learned that if you ask your dad to go bike riding, he doesn't make you wear a helmet. (Unless you're going to the bike trail or Mom is standing right next to him.)
2. I've learned that if you don't lock your room when you to school, and your brother is home from preschool, it's a lot messier when you get home.
3. I've learned that if you get worked up about something, you don't hear what you'll get for a reward if you're well behaved doing it.
4. I've learned that you don't ride on the flooded blacktop at the park.
5. I've learned that it's not a good idea to eat airplane food.
6. I've learned that waiting till the day before a project is due is not exactly fun.
7. I've learned that rock climbing on loose rocks is fun until you fall off and cut your back.
8. I've learned that moving seems like the worst thing in the world at the time, but you end up really liking where you moved to.
9. I've learned that it doesn't matter what gender your friends are.
