Yesterday was a busy day! I spent most of the morning writing cards and drying out slices of orange which made the whole house smell amazing and very festive. I love making dried orange slices - they are lovely on the Christmas tree and and I'm thinking of making some garlands with them this year.  I got a really lovely text from the bellydance ( Read more... )

Sounds like a wonderful and successful day. I'm thinking about doing cards. Does that count? LOL I'm glad you're getting paid for all that work for the belly dancing mentor!

Dried orange slices on a tree - who'd 'a' thunk it? I love the idea of making my house smell like citrus. Luckily, I have lots of oranges right now.

Thanks!

I hope you can see this: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/dried-orange-lemon-slices/amp

Then you can string them on twine and use star anise or cloves or bay leaves to make them look pretty (and smell even nicer!)

Oh thanks you - I was just wondering how long they should stay in the oven!

The length of time is really dependant on the juiciness of the oranges. I tend to set a timer every 30 mins and turn them over and check. Sometimes they might take another hour.

You need them to be just shy of being totally bone dry and crispy. If they are too wet they don’t keep well.

I've bought the cards and the stamps but I haven't got any further than that :)

Mmm... mulled wine. Lovely.
Congratulations on getting your last Christmas cards done. I still have quite a few to do.

I started very early as some were advent cards so they needed to be out for 1 Dec *g*

Tbh I thought I needed to be ahead of the game for everything in case of another lockdown situation - hence the early present buying too!!
