Dashboard temperature on our way back from Tai Chi in the park this morning. We ended up under the trees as it was so hot in the sunshine and as our teacher is from Hong Kong (and clearly used to temperatures like this!) we had to persuade her that we fair skinned English people need to be in the shade LOL!

It was a good lesson - it's lovely just being very Zen in a park although challenging moving around and balancing on uneven ground. Two people were interested in what we were doing and went away with a leaflet, so we may have more recruits (there were only four of us today).
We had a salad lunch and relaxed for a while watching the live action 'Mulan'. I can see why people hated it - I didn't feel that strongly about it - it was just a bit boring, although the scenery was pretty amazing. It's such a shame as the traditional story of Mulan is really good and it could have been cut together much better.
Now our outside thermometer says that we've reached 34.3C/94F in the garden. We've just watered the plants and fortunately the weather forecast seems to be temperatures under 30C next week which will be a relief and it looks like we're back to rain next weekend.
The weather certainly seems to be getting more extreme everywhere - my heart goes out to anyone affected by the awful flooding in Europe - so sad :(
18. What time do you usually go to bed at on weekends?
I don't tend to wake up much later than usual at weekends (around 6.30/7.00am), so I get tired around the same time of night. Bedtime is around 10pm-11pm all through the week really unless we have friends round or go out somewhere in the evening which hasn't happened for a while.
Local numbers of estimated cases of Covid19 seem to have reached a plateau which is encouraging, but I'm not convinced it will not go up in the next week.
Our Government seems to be doing the same irritating U turns it was before. The PM and chancellor were exposed to the health secretary who has now tested positive for Covid (double jabbed, I'm assuming he relaxed a bit too much about sanitising his hands etc what a Covidiot). Initially they said they wouldn't isolate, but be tested regularly. This was NOT popular with all those families who have struggled with isolating, and businesses who have had to close as they don't have enough staff when they've been told to isolate. Yes, one of my favourite tiny, family run local restaurants has had to close for three days as they have several staff who've been told to isolate.
So 157 minutes after that announcement (and the consequent explosion of criticism) they said they are isolating. The PM is in the lovely country house built in
1565 'Chequers' which is the official weekend home of the Prime Minister. Such a hardship */sarcasm*
Everyone I've spoken to thinks easing up the restrictions is just madness - and
a top scientist agrees. *sigh*
