A drizzly Monday

Jun 28, 2021 08:40

Temperatures here are forecast to be 21C/70F and dull and drizzly for most of it. Lady cat is sitting on the deck in the fine drizzle, trying to dry herself off by washing herself while she's still sitting in the rain. Sometime I wonder about her brain ( Read more... )

I see your rant and raise it to the level of fury. Part of me feels it's wrong he resigned when he should have been sacked, and made it about his 'personal life' when it should have been about cronyism, incompetence and corruption. And don't get me started about his waste-of-skin boss.

OK, shutting up now.

He jumped before he was pushed but of course that means he can come back like anyone else could do if they behave like that in their job - oh wait ….

Saj walked out on principle. Eons ago - just before the pandemic started. Now he's back. Door Matt will become Revolving Door Matt in roughly the same time, I bet.

I will cop to having to look up "pyrography". I always called it "wood burning" which, naturally, I've done. We have similar life experiences and who needs to start something new!

I was just thinking almost exactly the same as you about the way the Matt Hancock adultery/breaking covid regs thing has been playing out, and been covered in the news. What's the betting he will blame the adultery on pressure of work/ being thrown together under pressure/ Martha couldn't understand what he was going through...

And then the press standing around her gate hoping to get a photo of her looking upset or possibly dishevelled. Like you I would like the headline to be 'Osteopath Martha Hoyer Miller throws cheating husband out so she can get on with her life.'

I like your headline even more. I just get so tired of the journalists making it look like he’s controlling all this. Anyone who was in a top job in the public sector in a position of trust would be out on their ear and good riddance. We just know he’ll be back :(

I'm afraid I have given up being surprised by anything our terrible shower of politicians do. The hypocrisy and incompetence are just beyond belief.

Our numbers are fairly high but below the national average, which surprised me as the Delta variant hit us quite early here.

Oh me too - but I do hate the way it’s reported. He’s someone who was in a job where he was supposed to be trustworthy and he’s a lying cheating man who does what he wants *grrrr*

I’m glad the numbers are going down but I think we’re always going to have this virus around now.

Books like that are deadly to sleep. the number of times I've put one aside at 1am, only to pick it up again half an hour later when I failed to go to sleep.

*cheers your rant* The headlines were totally back-to-front.

I’m hopeless with a book that I’m enjoying. I’ve often kept reading well past it’s sensible!

I like curiouswombat’s headline too ;)
