Yesterday a friend came round in the morning and we sat inside (we're allowed to now!) and had a good catch up. I haven't seen her since last summer, so there was quite a lot to catch up with.  After she'd gone we had lunch and then in the late afternoon we went on a Nordic walk. There had been a lot of rain in the morning, so we weren't expecting to get away with avoiding it, but fortunately it held off even if it was a bit squishy underfoot!  It was a good walk and we saw lots more bluebells.

Today I started the morning off with the A Guide to Understanding Paintings course. This week we looked at Edgar Degas - a painter I've looked at in some detail in my Art Appreciation class, so it was interesting to look at more of his work from a different perspective.  It's also very interesting as each teacher I've had who has used Degas as the subject has come from a different perspective, so I learn something new every time.  Today I learned that the family name was Degas but had been changed to De Gas by someone in his family tree at some point. He decided not to do with the De Gas spelling and reverted back to Degas.Good stuff.

This afternoon a friend came round for a chat which was lovely. We ended up chatting until about 5pm as we had a lot of catching up to do.

We had our first Pilates classes with G this evening. Mr Cee went to the beginners/improvers at 5.30pm and I went to the flow class at 6.30pm. It was a bit of a pain having to take both cars, so I might switch to the Tuesday morning class once my Art Appreciation classes have stopped next week.  We both enjoyed the class and it was nice to get out. Mr Cee took our friend M with him (who used to do Pilates with N but hasn't done it at all during lockdown).  They both coped OK ;)  My class was tough but I managed it.

Tomorrow Mr Cee has the day off and we're going to London for the day. OMG - the last time we did that was seven months ago back at the end of October 2020!!

19. What kind of cheese do you put on your sandwiches?
If I've got it I like French brie in a sandwich with some cranberry sauce, but mostly I'll have cheddar and mango chutney if we have any of that, I also quite like cheddar with tomatoes or just cheddar with onion chutney. Then again, if I have it I also like any of those combinations with a nice Jarlsberg cheese.  Of course there's also nothing nicer than a good Welsh Rarebit (mmmm cooked cheese).  I do need to watch my saturated fat if I want to lose weight though so it will remain an occasional treat...

20. How old were you when you got your driver’s license?
I was 17 - wow...
