Monday was a bit of a boring day although it did start with a rather chewed dead mouse on the living room rug (ewww).
In the morning I did chores and in the afternoon I had an online meeting with the bellydance mentor. She's been very quiet as the online community has had quite a few people leaving (I think people have just had enough of online stuff), so she's been doing some marketing training and hasn't needed me for anything other than the odd 5 minute job. I've actually enjoyed not being busy tbh. I have a couple of small things to do. The mentor is worried as my old bellydance teacher appears to be poaching some of her students (I am not that surprised tbh). Oh the drama!
In the evening there was a lecture as part of my Nutrition course all about DNA and genes which was interesting, and after that we had Tai Chi. I am always suprised my Fitbit shows that I did 14 minutes of cardio and 31 minutes of fat burn during the lesson. I think it's because there are a lot of large movements where you use your whole arm and several instances where you are standing on one leg extending the other one straight out (it's hard!). I'm looking forward to the live classes which start on the 23rd (and it will also continue on Zoom on Mondays which is good).
This morning the day started with me putting on some sourdough dough to do it's first prove while I went out to my Art Appreciation course. This week we looked at
Romare Bearden a collage artist who created lots of artwork highlighting African-American history, migration and life. It was an interesting lecture as none of us had heard of him before.
This afternoon I baked the bread while Mr Cee went to buy groceries and at 4.30 I had an online consultation with Dave as part of the Nutrition course which unfortunately was cut short by his internet crashing, so we've rescheduled for Thursday afternoon. Such is online life, I can't wait for it to be normal times without all this Zooming (or at least only occasional Zooming - I can handle it in small doses).
I have nothing else planned for the day so I have a couple of questions to deal with:
10. Out of everyone you know, who has the most heart?
I would have to say Mr Cee is someone who has a lot of heart - he's someone who always jumps in to help someone if they look like they need it. I've lost count of how many times we've stopped at the side of the road if someone looks like they are having problems with their car. He's the first to offer someone a hand if they need to get something out of reach in a supermarket, and he's always checked on previous elderly neighbours. If he overhears someone who is lost he'll usually step in to direct them. He's also someone who will drop everything to help a family member - the boys really appreciate that in particular I think. He'll always try and make time to help. I'd say he has a big heart.
11. How many beings live in your house?
There are 2 adult humans, 3 cats and 3 goldfish.
Covid stuff - we are due to open up everything again next week on schedule. We still have some restrictions -
- People can meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors
- Six people or two households can meet indoors
- Overnight stays will be allowed in groups of up to six people or two households
- Pubs, restaurants and other hospitality venues can reopen indoors
- Adult indoor group sports and exercise classes can restart
- Indoor entertainment such as museums, theatres, cinemas, bingo halls, sports stadia and children's play areas can reopen
- Performances and large events can restart, with limits on audience numbers
- Remaining outdoor entertainment, such as outdoor theatres and cinemas can open
- Hotels, hostels and B&Bs can reopen
- Holidays abroad to green list countries will be allowed
- Up to 30 people can attend weddings (although dancing will still not be allowed) and more than 30 can attend funerals
I'm looking forward to the museums and art galleries opening and I've been checking out all the exhibitions. We're going up to London next Friday and I can't wait....
