A gorgeous Saturday....

Friday started with frost and it was a intermittently sunny. I spent the morning sorting through things and making a plan for some decorating we want to do in the next week or so while Mr Cee had his Pilates class. He has decided he wants to try the new Pilates teacher as he's heard me singing her praises. Unfortunately she only does a beginners/intermediate class on Wednesdays and for the next two Wednesdays we've booked to go walking with the Nordic Walking group. This means we won't be back in time for him to join the class, so we'll have a think about it in a couple of weeks.

In the afternoon I had an online consultation with Dave the Neuromechanics coach. I've signed up to a course all about nutrition which starts next week for the next 90 days. It includes a DNA test to show how you as an individual process different food groups such as carbohydrate, fat etc. so you can better understand how to tailor your food intake in a way that's best for you. The online course includes lectures about how you process food, and there are also lots of free exercise classes. He got in touch as a pre-course catch up, and as he's going to be near me at the beginning of May he's going to come and see me at home so we can go through a questionnaire for the course. He also said he'd like to do a proper assessment of my SI joint issues as of course he's only been able to help me with that online. He's doing that for free which is nice of him, and he's hopefully going to see what it is that's causing it to flare up every now and again (yay!).

The rest of the early afternoon I made some stained glass angels for a friend who's getting ahead for Christmas gifts (!).

We went for a walk after that and got a text from Youngest Cee while we were walking asking us to call when we got back. Turns out he's found out that the job he's been offered means a £5,000 pay rise over his current job, which he really wasn't expecting! The various health/criminal checks he is going through (as it's a Government job) are still ongoing, but his prospective line manager confirmed the salary with him today. He says he can't stop smiling - I am very pleased for him.

That was it for Friday. Today started with a bit of frost, but it's been gloriously sunny all day and it's been lovely to be able to have the door to the garden open and enjoy the sunshine all day. We've also line dried two loads of laundry which means they smell gorgeous! At 10am we had our Swiss ball Pilates class which was surprisingly easy today - usually we're sweating by the end of it, but I don't know why it seemed easy - maybe there were some new people in the class - or maybe it's relatively easy after the other Pilates teacher's classes LOL! Anyhoo - it was a good workout.

After lunch we drove to a local village where there's a couple of antiques shops and had a look around them. It was a lovely drive though the countryside and it was nice to be able to browse somewhere different! I ended up buying a pretty cut glass vase for flowers, and we saw lots of interesting old things which we avoided buying LOL!

Now we are relaxing as we have no more plans for today.  I have questions:

16. What kind of traveling do you not enjoy as much?
Going on an aeroplane is tedious. I try and avoid it where possible as there's so much waiting around (I know it's to keep everyone safer, but I hate that we have to get to the airport two hours before the flight now). Just before all the pandemic started we realised that the Eurostar train is just as quick to use to get to most of the areas of Europe we've wanted to visit (it's only 2.5 hours to Lille in France for example) so we started to use that. Maybe we will again, but not for a while.
17. What’s a common experience for many people that you’ve never experienced?
I've never eaten in a chicken-based fast food restaurant like Nandos or KFC. I just don't fancy it.....
