It's been a bit of a 'nothing' day today. Thankfully we've had much lower temperatures and even a bit of rain - though not as much as was forecast which is disappointing as I'm going to have to water everything tomorrow.
I started the day in the glass studio as I have lots of friends with 60th birthdays coming up, and I'll be making most of them something. I planned a couple of designs for replacing plain glass in some off the shelf candle lanterns. I ended up designing two different ideas, and started to make the smaller design for a friend I've already found a great handbag for. I'll post photos when it's finished.
That took me up to lunch and I realised it was Pilates day, so we usually have a more substantial lunch on those days. Pasta bake was a simple and easy way to use up lots of veg and some mozarella that I had in the 'fridge. It was yum. I must admit I then sat about for a bit as my hip/lower back is still really sore which is annoying. It's still worse when I am in bed and fortunately I have an appointment with the knee physio we had the online workshop with last week end on Monday. I'm sure it's all related to my knee, sacro-iliac joint issues and having one leg longer than the other. I feel like the paranoid android "of course I've got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left hand side..."
So the afternoon was a mix of setting up some new landline telephones we had delivered (the two of the three old handsets we have in the house have become unreliable). Our old set are call blocking landline phones and have been invaluable in stopping all the cold calls and unwanted 'have you been in an accident/you have a problem with your computer/would you like to complete this survey...." calls which have increased over the years. So we've replaced the old set with new ones which announce who is calling if you have put the number in the address book on the phone. This is so useful in an open plan bungalow as it means we know who is calling and can ignore it or answer it as we see fit.
I ducked out of joining in with Mr Cee's Pilates class this evening because I think I need to rest my joint. There was much giggling from Mr Cee I could hear while he was doing the lesson - apparently our teacher's dog decided to join in with her today LOL!
Tomorrow (if it doesn't rain) Youngest Cee is popping over to wash his car, and bring the temporary table and office chair we lent him. His company have said that they will pay for some home/office equipment if it's needed once he comes off furlough, so he'll get a small desk and chair from them once he's back at work. He's not sure when that will be, but they are hopeful in getting everyone back to work as soon as possible (but keeping the London office closed for the time being).
Just time for the 365 question today: 3 What’s your favorite cake (or not-cake) for your birthday? I can't remember the last time I had a birthday cake! I've usually been spoiled and had a meal out for my birthday so I've gone with an indulgent dessert - usually something with fruit and/or chocolate. Even if I've had a birthday at home I've rarely had a cake, although my belly dance friends bought me a cake for my 60th birthday last year which I had a small piece of but it was a bit too sweet for me so Mr Cee took it into work and it was gone in seconds LOL! Last year we went out for afternoon tea so I had lots of little gorgeous cakes and scones, clotted cream and jam....YUM!!
