It started out being a very sunny, but chilly day this morning and then has degenerated into a dull chilly day. I always resent being indoors at my Tuesday art appreciation class when it's sunny outside - not only because I'm missing the sun - but also because the room the class is in has a huge window which we have to have covered in order to see the Smartboard projection in the classroom. So I spent my morning in the dull classroom with glorious sunshine outside *boo*. Anyhoo - it was an interesting class as we looked at
Paul Klee a painter I wasn't familiar with. He was a German, born in Switzerland who was very influential and taught at the Bauhaus school of art. His paintings are not something I would seek out, but I can appreciate what he was trying to do at the time and it was a good class and I did like some of his work.
I've spent the afternoon cooking some spicy parsnip soup with roasted parsnips, onion, tomato and lots of lovely spices like mustard seeds, garlic and fennel. It smells amazing! I've also been knitting the second of my slipper socks and have just got the cuff on that one to do and then it's a matter of sewing the cuffs to the slippers and adding some buttons (which I thought I'd lost, but I've found them again).
Mr Cee has just got home - we are so lucky that our local station runs to all the major London stations as his usual route was completely disrupted by a cracked track rail this morning (photo under the cut). They had to divert trains, but he just went to a different mainline London station and came home that way too so it was all good. This bodes well for tomorrow as we have two routes we can take when we go up to the Saatchi Gallery tomorrow to see the Tutenkhamun exhibition tomorrow (I shall report back!).

You can see the crack in the rail better on the photo on the left. They are working today and overnight to fix it, but we will be fine getting up to London tomorrow as we have choices :)
I'm off to be the TA for the beginners Pilates course later, but I just have time to answer the 365 meme: 4 Is your home tidy right this minute?
Actually it is fairly tidy apart from the study which has the old cooker hood in (we are waiting for someone to come and collect it) and some other things that need to go back up in the loft. As we had such a dusty weekend the rest of the house is actually pretty good as I have to clean all the surfaces everywhere. I do try and keep the house tidy as the back room is open plan with our sitting area, dining area and kitchen so if I'm untidy in there it looks dreadful. I do struggle to keep our bedroom tidy as I tend to dump clean clothes in there and they often sit on the floor waiting to go into the wardrobes and I often forget to do that... However, as we live in a bungalow everyone can see into my bedroom on the way to the front door, so I do try and keep it tidy (or at least out of view of the door LOL!).
