I can't believe we've been in this house for four weeks, it feels so much longer! I keep having to stop myself from turning down the road to our old house in the car when I go out.... *g*
There are a few things I miss:
- my old washing machine had a 9Kg drum and I could fit a LOT more into each wash. It also told me how long each wash would take and how long was left. I didn't realise how much I relied on that. The machine here is a washer drier - I do not like it! It only has a 6.5Kg drum and the drier is not worth bothering with IMO. It takes a loooong time to dry the towels to make them fluffy...
- I used to have a halogen ceramic hob, which was super controllable and so easy to clean. I now have a gas hob which is very versatile, but is a bugger to clean. I am saving for a new hob - maybe next year some time - I might treat myself to an induction hob.
- The wet rooms are great, but they missed a trick when they didn't install underfloor heating. It's essential in a tiled bathroom and I miss that - it means everything dries really well in a wet room. Mr Cee says that in a year or two we can change that as we can lay it over the top of the existing flooring and re-tile. I'm going to hold him to that - I miss my warm tootsies!
There are a few niggles too like the odd thing that wasn't finished very well by the builders (thank goodness Mr Cee is good with DIY). However, overall we are still happy that we moved.
The kitties now have a catflap installed in one of the bifold doors, but they are very suspicious of it! I've managed to programme them all into it (it is personalised to their microchips and they have to just go near it for it to remember them and stop other kitties coming in), so tonight they should realise they can go outside. Of course they may not, but as I've cut down the kitty litter trays from two to one and by Sunday there will be no litter trays in the house they are going to have to get used to it!
I'm off to belly dancing tonight - which I am looking forward to :)
Happy Thursday!
