Oh dear, Mr Ben doesn't know us at all, huh.

Hubby says that they've clearly taken it off so that the Mary Whitehouses of this country can't go and be offended by it....

*tries to appear delicate*

*fails*

Unbelievable innit!! I doubt I'd have gone to see it, but somehow I resent not getting the chance because I'd clearly be upset and stuff....NOT!!!

*slurps champagne*

Yup - that's going well! LOL!

I probably wouldn't have gone to see the film anyway - but I'm so angry that I'm not getting the chance!!!

That sums up my reaction too. How dare he assume that all of Britain is crying into it's lukewarm beer over the disappearance of one child and will therefore be totally distressed by his film which we would be forced to go and see if he wasn't so thoughtful as to prevent it! (Pause for breath and a few commas,,,, that's better!)

Also - your layout, hmm, yes - an example of all the things you told us were 'not good' at Derby.... And I have to say that you were absolutely right!

What I find most offensive is the implication that we can't tell fact from fiction. And we have a choice not to see it if we don't want to - so what's the problem?????

Layout now changed to something less eye-bleedy thank goodness!! LOL!

Can't say I'm enamoured of the colour scheme - I second the bleeding eyes comment.

As for the film - well I, too, probably wouldn't have gone to see it, because I'm so shallow I only really go to see fantasy or animation. But I'm very irritated indeed that anyone should presume that we are too feeble to be able to cope with its release. It reminds me of the week after Diana's death, when all the Americans I knew seemed to be emailing me sympathy for the acute grief I did not feel.

Bah.

Eye bleeding layout now changed. I wish I could change the font on this one, but I don't seem to have the option (I hate this font!).

Yes - I don't need to be told that I can't understand the difference between fantasy and reality!

This is definitely an improvement - but is it part of Vox LJ's attempt to remove our autonomy in creating our own journal style?

The irony is, to me, that sooner or later someone will make a film about Madeleine McCann anyway.

I agree with you over the film - we all choose what we watch on TV/DVD/cinema ... thats what "Freedom of Choice" means to be. Surely on the other side of the argument may mean that if people watched it they could be more aware of the peoples feelings.

CHEERS!!

*waves empty glass*

Champagne was lovely, thanks!

Freedom of choice seems to be disappearing fast these days....
