Mr Cee has annual leave to use up before the end of March (or he'll not be able to use the days), so today he took the day off and we went to London to see Lightroom's presentation "
The Moonwalkers: A Journey With Tom Hanks".
Narrated and co-written by Tom Hanks this was an hour-long presentation about the people who landed and walked on the moon, from Apollo 11 (1969) through to Apollo 17 (1972) and looking forward to the Artemis programme in 2025 (Artemis was the sister of Apollo, and the programme aims to take a crew of three astronauts (two male and one female) to the moon).
It was a very immersive experience (you can see how the information was projected onto the walls and floor in the video on the page above). There was a little bit about the history of the planning for the moon landings, and I was impressed to see that many of the female technicians, engineers and specialists were featured prominently. All this was accompanied by a great soundtrack and an awe-inspiring sound system (the whole room shook as the Saturn V rocket took off!).
We were allowed to take photos, but I didn't take many as I was enjoying the presentation - but a few are under the cut.

Amazing photos - these have been reprocessed Andy Saunders who has had access to all 35,000 photos and all the film footage and is now considered one of the foremost experts in NASA photograph restoration (some of you may remember we saw him when he did a presentation last
October in Southwark Cathedral when the enormous HD moon model was being displayed). You can see more of Andy's restored NASA photos

We really enjoyed the whole experience and we had a delicious lunch in a nearby Mediterranean restaurant before wandering home. We just missed torrential rain!
Today's meme question is: 15. In the UK it's
Comic Relief Red Nose Day - a day to raise money for charity. Red noses are available to buy in various places - have you ever worn a red nose?
I've worn one back in the day when I was teaching on Red Nose Day, but not since then :)
