It's raining again.....
Yesterday we were back to rain all day and it cooled down again - 6C/42F when I left the house in the morning to head off to my last Art Appreciation lesson before we take a break for the Easter holidays. Our regular teacher was finally back after her operation - and it was good to get back into classes filled with interesting information. This

Sorolla is one of our favourites as well. Have you ever been to Madrid to the Sorolla Museum? It is in the house where he lived and painted for a while. A lovely place and so many of his paintings are there. The calendar on our kitchen wall this year is Sorolla and our visitor from New York City this month gifted us with an amazing book from the Hispanic Society about their collection of Sorollas.
Ah...la Duquesa de Alba...now there's an interesting woman for you. She was involved with Goya for a while...we saw the house in Chinchón where they used to meet.

You’re very welcome! I loved the exhibition which is over here because the Hispanic Society building is being upgraded. I’ve never been to Spain so I’ve not seen the Sorolla Museum. The closest I have come is the large exhibition in The National Gallery here where I fell in love with his beautiful paintings a couple of years ago. I have a book of his main masterpieces which are so lovely.
