All right, so there is way more than ten things I love about OUAT, but I've managed to try and cover as many bases as possible. In no particular order, but you'll probably be able to pick out my top faves.
Minor finale spoilers

Yeah, I'm going to own to liking both Prince Charming and David. I'm not ashamed to admit that some of that comes from just how hot he is... but only some of it. Charming is determined to live his life on his own principles regardless of what some very powerful people might think of that. He loves Snow and wants to be with her. He was just a shepherd, but within days of being plucked off a farm he slayed a dragon.
In many ways he comes across as the polar opposite of David who is more than a little wishy-washy - not to mention a cheat (but I'll go into that a little further down). He can't seem to make up his mind about anything and in the process hurts both Mary Margaret and Kathryn. His actions are ultimately inexcusable and not at all attractive.
However he is like Charming in that they're both completely without malice - and I can appreciate that, quite a bit.
Plus the very obvious differences makes his character interesting to watch, even if he is't all that likeable at times.
/overly long explanation

Emma is awesome. And I would leave it at that, but I just want to chip in with how much I can admire what she's trying to do. To have survived her childhood and be willing to begin to let people in...speaks of immense character. I also love the fact that she's willing to go head to head with Regina or Gold despite the fact that everyone around her is obviously very afraid of both.
I can't wait to see what happens with her character next season - she's the one I'm most looking forward to seeing. Everything she's believed has had to change very quickly in a very short space of time and now there's all these people who she's going to have to deal with who are very different than she thought. I'm looking forward to that a lot. (provided of course everyone still remembers who they're meant to be!)
Also she fought a dragon...with a sword.

If I had a class full of Henrys...that would be kind of weird, but also kind of awesome. He's adorable and sweet and clearly very intelligent.
He figured out the curse - worked out what was wrong with the town, why no one but himself aged (which would have been incredibly lonely) and how to break the curse. He then hopped on a bus and went to find the one person he needed to break the curse and convinced her to come with him and stay in Storybrooke.
Emma may have broken the curse, but Henry is the reason for it being broken.

I always say that while Snow White is the character I most want to be like - Mary Margaret is the character I am most like (except for the part where I've never had an affair with a married man). Though I do wish I could be as awesome a teacher as she clearly was...we're making marble runs this week - that's almost like making birdhouses, right?
I do have to admit that I always felt the need to give the poor woman a hug, though. the curse was clearly meant to hurt her and Regina always seemed to make sure it was hurting her. She was so kind to everyone and despite her very flawed judgement when it came to David - she did not deserve what happened to her.

Favourite character? What favourite character? You mean I technically have the same person twice on my list? I don't know what you're talking about.
I fell in love with Snow the minute she pulled Charming's sword out when Regina arrived at her wedding. And then I never looked back.
I've loved the way she presents such a clear contrast to Mary Margaret, but that they're essentially the same person with different parts of the their character's emphasised. I also loved the way that the further on in the season we got the mroe we could see her in Mary Margaret.
But mostly I love Snow because she is so strong and kick-arse and tough and capable of taking care of herself despite some pretty awful circumstances. But in response to that she is very human - and prone to giving up when she thinks things are too big and too insurmountable .

The compelling characters and stories of this show have been part of why I love it so much. the above is only a fraction of some of the characters we've met (I purposely left off the main ones, because they're already getting a lot of attention in this post), and only a fraction of the ones I've loved.
I love the new take on many of the fairy tales. I never was a person all that interested in actual fairy tales, but I've always loved fractured ones. And these are done in such an interesting way, using the source material (from all it's various sources) in new and old ways.
I love the focus they put on family too. Forget shipping, family is what I tune in for.

Yes, this is a weird one to put on my list. And I do love Snow/Charming infinitely more. I just feel this is a ship that goes very underappreciated (I swear that's a word!).
Mary Margaret and David clearly are being very stupid here. There was no way in which this relationship was ever going to end happily - until of course their memories come, back that's something different. Mary Margaret and David were never going to end happily. The curse (and Regina) prevents it.
Having a relationship where one party is married to someone else is always a bad choice. Someone - if not everyone - is always going to get hurt, and usually someone completely undeserving. Kathryn certainly didn't deserve what happened to her - any of it. (but then she didn't deserve to be married to someone she admitted to not wanting to marry, even if that was in another life).
But I appreciate the way that none of the characters were made out to be a villain, especially not Kathryn. And while David and Mary Margaret were completely wrong and unjustified in what they did and how they went about it...were ultimately two people who did something really stupid and then had to face the consequences of the pain they caused.
Call me strange, but I found it fascinating to watch.

Pretty my favourite part of the show is Mary Margaret and Emma's relationship. The way they go from strangers to room mates to friends to family, and are never able to explain the connection between them. I loved watching Emma responding to Mary Margaret's faith and trust in her and in turn we usually saw Snow peeking out most often when she was with Emma (she took down Jefferson barely breaking a sweat).
I love how hard Emma fought to prove Mary Margaret's innocence - the only other person she has fought that hard for is Henry and that connection is really telling. And I loved the way that Mary Margaret told her off at the end of the season, but not in a way that felt like rejection.
I've already said that I am most looking forward to Emma's story next season, but a big part of that will be her interactions with Snow (or will it be Mary Margaret again?). TBH, if the show was about just these two I would still probably be happy.

Confession: neither Rumpelstiltskin nor Regina ranks on my list of favourite characters. BUT you're never going to see me wanting them off my screen.
Both of them are fascinating to watch (and the acting is superb). Both are determined to do whatever it takes to be more powerful (the most powerful) and neither are especially concerned in who gets hurt while they're on the way. And while I don't think either are justified in any way for the actions they take, I do think their actions are understandable and not without reason.
I love the chemistry they have when on screen together. And right from the start I have loved the way they play off each other. They work together when it suits them, but they're also perfectly content to work against each other at a moment's notice - and without the other realising what's happening. Like Emma's comment about them working diagonally.

I'm kinda of tired now, and it's nearly bedtime, so I'm going to make this one really short. I'm rooting for team good and their happy endings. :D
