Twice in my past two trips to Bulldog News have I been confused by CNN headlines on their television.
Day One: The headline at the bottom of the screen declared "Seals at Nuclear Reactor" and I thought to myself how (and why) in the heck did a band of pinnipeds breach what must certainly have been stringent security? After about 30 seconds of bemusement, I noticed, in a smaller font above, the words "North Korea Threatens To Breach". This was far less amusing. Though now my former confusion amused me.
Day Two: Tuesday's headline at the bottom of the screen stated "Shorts Ban Called Outrageous." And I was inclined to agree, but wanted more information. Was it a school banning students from wearing shorts? A city? Was it in the name of fighting gangs? After a short time the headline changed, and though I cannot recall the precise text, it was clear they were discussing the ban on short-selling in the stock market. And I cared a lot less.
Fool me once, shame on you, CNN. Fool me twice, doubly shame on you, CNN.
