From under water she emerges
Ya okay it couldn't rain anymore here could it??????!!!!!!!!! Fortunatly at the Little household we have been spared any flood damage however my sump pump in the crawlspace is still going every 4 minutes and has been for the past 72 hours or so. The winds here were horrible tuesday night/wednesday morning and there are people in the surrounding areas STILL without power. At the store we ran out of bottled water by about noon yesterday lol and ice. When I went in this morning the boys were restocking the shelves. We are also fortunate at this moment to not be on a 'boil water' advisory though that may change during the evening as there is another storm on the way. Parts of the mainland and parts of the island here have been hit very hard, some communities totally cut off. And as I look out the window the rain has started again.
I am however enjoying a day off and I have tomorrow off as well and will do some Christmas shopping ICK! Don already bought himself a new camera.......... a FUJI something something ........don't know anything about cameras but apparently it's nice lol. We are getting Jack a TV/DVD combo for his room and an IPOD ( which I have already bought ) but I need to get on top of the shopping as but first week of December the store is very busy and I know with the stupid shifts I sometimes get shopping time will be not something I will be able to get to.
Work wise our store is now a 'corporate' store. Ours was the last Owner/Operated store in the Thrifty's franchise. The sale happened pretty much overnight ( though of course it didn't happen that way ) and we had a new store manager within 24 hours of the sale. He seems nice enough........I call him 'new guy' which I find very funny and laugh everytime I see him. He is a total corporate guy and has been with the company most of his adult life. Nothing much has changed yet though the department managers had a 5 hour meeting with him yesterday and most looked spent by the end of it. We will still get bonuses for Christmas and there will be a Christmas party on the 9th of December. I am thinking there will be some restructering in the New Year as they can't do much now with the Christmas rush coming up. It will mean new tills for us cashiers and the long awaited store expansion will happen in the spring. I will just keep doing my job to the best of my ability and work my way up the corporate way in the next few years as was my plan to begin with. I am due a raise as well and have a meeting on monday about that. It will entail.........yes Karen you are doing a good job etc etc and I hope to go up a dollar an hour.
That's about it news wise ...................Wyn I am thrilled to read of your new venture and it sounds like you are loving every minute of it! Good luck with it!
