Diana and Elvis

So early moring to work............8 am.....lovely :(  I had a conversation with Rich who is the produce manager and he said that Elvis Costello was in the store last night and was looking at the fruit but wanted some peaches that we didn't have in.  He bought a couple of things and went home....was great to the cashier who served him and said 'they' would be back in the morning for a 'good shop'.  I mentioned it to someone I knew was on the night before and she said ' oh yes he was in and was very nice' . So the morning was going quite slow, I got my first break at 10 for 20 minutes and came downstairs from the breakroom and walked through produce ( as I usually so cause there is always some weird fruit on special and I need to know the codes) .....and I looked up and Diana Krall and Elvis Costello were in the store. They were looking at the peaches lol. It had gotten a bit busy by that time as we are inudated with tourists right now so I said hello in passing as I had to get back to my till. About 10 minutes later I had a huge lineup and was serving customers and noticed THEY WERE IN MY LINEUP!!!!!!! I had called for a bagboy to come and help as it was busy so we were moving fairly quickly through the lineup ( good thing for Thriftys lol ) . They put their stuff on the conveyer belt and I said........hello...paper or plastic bags for you today...........they said......paper please :) .........So I started ringing through their stuff.........she looks preggers to me and I said........so how far along?.........she said the baby was due in December but didn't give a date.......they were standing very close to each other looking very happy and content. As I was ringing through their stuff I came upon one item which was bulk candied ginger........Elvis says........that's on sale you know......I said .....yes it is! $1.29/100gms. The total for the candied ginger was $8.41.......he makes a bit of a face and she says..........stop it I want it lololol. Then a few items later were some cherries which are on sale as well...............but they are expensive.............the total for the cherries was like $13.00 for a bag.........he again makes a bit of a face and I said............Is that okay? I can take them off it you want they are a bit expensive right now..........she starts laughing and says.......NO! dont' listen to him............it was like he read the flyer lolol. I finished up with them.........a total of about 4 minutes........he payed with his Visa and they wer off. She said.......thanks Karen ( I was wearing a name tag ) ......see you again soon we are here for a while.
