of new books, life and other unis

*FLAILS* Haven't really posted an official blog post here in ages. But omg FLAILS.

Just read a delightful (well, that really depends on the amount of gore you can stomach and other moral-compass-turning things) book. I think it's really pretty awesome. I think it got more awesome because since reading the synopsis, I have been slashing the two main characters together. I don't know why, but I'm glad that reading the book has made me continue to slash them together with even more fervour.

Anyway, the book in question is "Blood Oath" by Christopher Farnsworth. It is apparently also published as "The President's Vampire", which is really the basic premise of the fic. The US President has a super top-secret agent that is actually a vampire, bound by a blood oath (hence the title), in service for 140 years.

On going to the author's website, I have found out that "The President's Vampire" is actually the 2nd book in the series. HELL YES. Going to look for it like pronto.

Vampire's called Nathaniel Cade and is generally referred to as Cade throughout most of the book. I kind of need to reread the book a bit to see if the author actually described Cade's appearance. I have the feeling he didn't. Not really.

Anyway, Cade has a new liasion called Zach Barrows, who shortly after getting introduced to his new job is thrown head first into a new threat from the Other Side that Cade has to tackle.

...on that note, I also need to see if Zach's appearance was ever described. Like ever.

Anyway, as I said earlier, my mind automatically went into Cade/Zach mode after reading the synopsis. HAHA. And then I had scenarios, fairly typical ones tbh but meh, flashing through my brain intermittenly as I was reading. a;dkljadfakjsss *FLAILS*

I cannot get enough of Zach and Cade's dynamic. It's a very progressive thing how they view each other. I positively loved it when Cade begins to respect Zach and Zach gets... I don't know nicer? Friendlier? It's harder to pinpoint for Zach... at least not without me getting way too into my yaoi goggles. xD"

Wheeeeeeee!

In other news, I'm going to be going back to London next Saturday. Uni term is starting... Ah well. Can't decide if it's good news or bad news or neutral news. Eh well. At least I had a very nice long holiday. ^^" Not that I've actually done a lot of things I probably should have but meh.

Was told by Zhi Hua that apparently NUS's sociology lecture on gender and sexuality talked about Ouran (well, more of showed "the gayest parts"), seme/uke dynamics (such as writing the seme's name first in a pairing) and BL in general quite recently. Probably today. Apparently "the whole Y-chromosomed individuals in the LT was groaning during the lecture" too.

...why does everyone else seem to get the interesting lectures? And I would have been sadistically amused to see the guys bemoaning their misfortune at ending up in such a lecture. MWAHAHAHAHAHA.

And I mentioned the "everyone else" bit because another friend in US, her uni offers student-run courses. One of them. Is. On. YAOI. I kid you not. I actually read the entire coursework outline and everything and was very amused but also very intrigued. I mean, I totally would take that course!

Especially with course assignments of writing/drawing a mini yaoi storyline (where in the world can you legitimately write porn for schoolwork?), doing a skit on seme/uke stereotypes and apparently get extra credit if you attend an optional yaoi convention and interview 3 people and get their signatures. Like. I would totally be in the course if I were in US, and that uni.

...it would also be extremely amusing to see the odd guys (if there are any) that happen to stumble upon this course and took it just because of the high female-male ration. xD" *sadist*

Right right. Time for me to go sleep now! And hopefully not let my mind run wild with Cade/Zach scenarios. xDDDDDD"

[EDIT: 17/09/2011, 1:05AM]

So my brain decided to go see if any fanfics has come out from "The President's Vampire" series. Answer is no. But. Like.

My brain now will not let me rest. It's plaguing me to write fic. WTH. No brain. Sleep. Like really. You can think about the various ways you want Cade and Zach to end up together like tomorrow. Or even whatever angsty thoughts you have regarding Cade's own oath to never drink human blood and a sticky situation in which he has to or else the entire world will die and the only human available is Zach.

Right. Not thinking. Not thinking.
